The courier guy will include a notice together with your LCD replacement. The notice will mention about what to do with your faulty product.

1. Pack the defective part using the same packing material supplied for the replacement part.
2. Seal the packaging materials with the same defective parts to be returned.
3. Contact Dell Logistics Provider at +603-5191 3325 and arrange for the collection of the consignment.
4. Upon arrival of the Dell Logistics Provider at your office/home for collection, please write your name on the Collection Note. Please also sign and add your company stamp on the Collection Note.

If the detective part not returned to Dell within 10 business days, an invoice will be issued accordingly for the value of the part, with payment required within 30 days from the Invoice date. In the event of the Invoice, the replacement part will be priced at Dell's current price.

Your graphics driver (mine is nvidia) should have an option to let you adjust flat panel scaling. Set it to use scaling with a fixed aspect ratio or set it to not scale to maintain the 4:3 aspect ratio. You won't be able to get a 1680x1050 field of vision even though you may be able to set the native res to that because the game simply wasn't programmed for widescreen.

In order to test whether the display is good or not you have to request them to hook up the LCD directly to just one pc. Cos in most outlets they use ciplak video splitters to split the signal to many LCDs, hence the deterioration in quality, not to mention that since they have so many different sizes on display, the one you are looking at most prob not running at its native res. Running an LCD at anything other than its native res will cause everything to look blur or out of focus.

If I'm not mistaken 1:1 pixel mapping is important only if the native res is high enough to support the signal. I.e., if you want true HD (1920x1080 a.k.a. 1080p) your LCD's native res must be the same or higher. If you want pixel mapping for lower than that, then only applicable for lower HD res (1280x720 a.k.a. 720p) which 19" and 20" can support (1440x900 and 1680x1050 respectively). XBox360 is 1080i, PS3 and Blu-Ray/HD-DVD are 1080p so theoretically it looks like anything below 24" would not be able to support those true res. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you want to watch movies in letterbox format then 1:1 may be important, but then again, regular DVD resolution is only 720x540 for 4:3 and 720x405 for 16:9. I don' t think you would want to watch a really small picture on a 1440x900 display, would you? So IMHO 1:1 isn't that important if you're looking at anything smaller than 24".

Actually I am just want to ask whether the Dynamic Contrast (DC) Ratio is necessary or useless? Even through they are clarification about DC is for Movie, but not major for gaming... =.=""

Either I have difficult to make decision for this BenQ which do have 1:1 mapping but only contrast ratio 800:1 or Samsung 206bw 3000:1 DC ...

I do research from Digimall All IT Hypermarket about their display unit for Samsung 206bw but it look quite blur ... other like viewsonic even perform better than it, so I have ambigious about wtf is DC and is this DC make the 206bw blur like shit ? No offence for those Samsung 206bw and 226 bw owners but can you realized is that only that display unit sux or watsoever?

If u feel free and go to PJ Digimall 3rd floor All IT Hypermarket to have a look, I didnot lie ...

Oh yeah, thank for best effort to clarify it, is this below what u r mentioned that ?

Attached Image

what so called Full HD format support HDMI

Did u understand what is the "Response Time : 5ms (2ms GTG) || 16ms( 6ms GTG)/ 12ms MPRT" ?

sound like different response time for different visual response ?

Dell specs :

LOL..No wonder the anime is so beautiful. I was like doh.gif why your anime look so nice in your LCD while mine is pixelated until i saw this..LOL...Anyway, watching HD movies are only the way to go for now due to the high resolution unless you could accept pixelated ones...

Aiyo, i thought of keeping the extra DVI & VGA cables when they send me the replacement LCD. I scared they will charge me for stealing the extra cables, so i returned it back. unsure.gif

Samsung SyncMaster 2032MW

It comes with a build-in TV tuner and HDMI, Component, S-Video, Scart and Composite inputs. It even comes with a remote control. rclxms.gif

Sadly, it's a TN panel.
