Well I have to say so far my experience with Dell has been absolutely top notch. From ordering to receiving to trying to get the LCD replaced, have had no problems and everyone has been professional and friendly. As I mentioned before I was on the line just to enquire about their dead pixel policy, and one thing led to another. I didn't think I could complete the replacement request because I'm at the office and unable to get the serial code from my LCD. However the lady I was on the line with told me she will email me, and to which I can then reply to at my convenience with the serial code. With that she'll complete the replacement request.

Top marks to Dell. thumbup.gif

Once I get my LCD replacement I will send a glowing thank you letter to Dell. I encourage people who have had a good experience with them to do the same. If not by letter, can always email. biggrin.gif

No question about Dell's sales after service. However, seeing alot of people having problems with their new arrived LCDs, doesn't look very good either. Dell really need to improve on that particular area.

The sample size is still pretty small - I'm sure the number of satisfied Dell customers far outweigh those who have issues. Plus I believe a great majority of people don't notice one or two dead pixels, unlike us more anal retentive tech geeks. flex.gif

People have reported a blue dominance, that goes away after the screen has warmed up. You can always adjust it in the OSD. Robust color calibration.

I play FPS on my 2407-HC and I don't seem to notice any input lag.

Hey guys how sure are you that Dell lets you keep the LCD for 10 days? They're sending the replacement tomorrow and I totally forgot to ask them about that when Logistics called me to confirm.

The courier guy will include a notice together with your LCD replacement. The notice will mention about what to do with your faulty product.

1. Pack the defective part using the same packing material supplied for the replacement part.
2. Seal the packaging materials with the same defective parts to be returned.
3. Contact Dell Logistics Provider at +603-5191 3325 and arrange for the collection of the consignment.
4. Upon arrival of the Dell Logistics Provider at your office/home for collection, please write your name on the Collection Note. Please also sign and add your company stamp on the Collection Note.

If the detective part not returned to Dell within 10 business days, an invoice will be issued accordingly for the value of the part, with payment required within 30 days from the Invoice date. In the event of the Invoice, the replacement part will be priced at Dell's current price.

dattebayo, I think you should go through the thread and count exactly how many "everyone" is. smile.gif It might give you a better perspective.

okie, maybe i wasn't specific enough..
my max budget for the monitor is 2k.. want to be able to use it with my pc as i'll connect the ps3 and pc together.

The Dell 2407-HC is your best bet, the best panel for your budget, plus it has all the inputs you need for your PS3. All other PVA based are easily above 2k, and the other panels in your budget range are TN-based.

The 2407WFP-HC supports CompactFlash type I/II Card, MicroDrive, Smart Media Card, Memory Stick Card, Memory Stick Pro Card, Memory Stick Duo (with Adapter), Secure Digital Card, MultiMedia Card, Mini Secure Digital. Thought I'd post it here in case someone was wondering.

My damn Olympus camera uses xd picture card though. sad.gif

Well I was originally supposed to get mine on a Tuesday, instead I got it on the Friday before. So basically three whole days before I was supposed to get it. smile.gif So you might luck out.

guys... is there a VESA stand for 2 monitors put vertically...

top for 17" bottom for 22"...??
*
That's a lot of weight on one stand - doubt you can find it here, and even if you could it would cost a bomb.

is dell monitor good?I have 17 inch dell entry monitor... I put it on computer desk and then 'baring' on lantai to watch video. what disappointing me is the display got a bit black on the top when watch at lower angle. is it 'biasa' for situation like that? and can't see any detail if the background picture is dark. very annoying la~~
*
Entry level will be using the TN panels, and their vertical viewing angle is absolutely terrible. If you want an improvement over your current 17 inch, you have to do some research and make sure the panel you're getting is PVA/MVA or if you got the money, IPS.

erm... 22" lcd watch normal DVD quality not so nice?
*
It'll be pixelated - you need to not watch it at your desk. Once you get more than 5 feet you should be fine. Don't let that put you off tho. It's simply because the monitor is much larger. You need HD content to make it look good.
