That same thread also says:

QUOTE
The strange backlighting issue on the 2407 is just a characteristic that has been "accepted" as normal, unfortunately. Unless you really look for, you don't notice most of the time.

Mine is A02, so I cannot do 1:1 in DVI or VGA

Added on May 23, 2007, 3:20 pmI would advice you, seeing as how there's so little information on the net, that you email LG directly and ask them if it supports pixel mapping or not.

great find! thumbup.gif thanks....n on the site they compared A panel and S panel...they only briefly mentioned the C Panel.

it was a long read...

but in the end....the difference is too minimal to make so much noise about.

mathematically yes..
side by side u probably can tell the difference..

but also consider the distance where ur monitor is placed..
my opinion is get the 22"
*
QUOTE(youngmasterho @ May 23 2007, 02:04 PM)
you might not be able to see more details in 22", given the fact that their native resolution is the same.

in fact, 22" monitor will be 'blurer' than a 20" because of d the dots distance (i might not be using a technical term).

hhmm... seems it may detected by human's eye. sweat.gif
but if come to a situation, will u guys choose to have a sharper pics but slightly smaller the screen, or blurer pics but slightly bigger the screen?

and btw, DELL E228WFP and samsung 226BW, will these 2 LCD have a big step diff between each? coz thier price not really a BIG diff, (probably $300+-)

300 plus not a big difference when the average price of each item is about 1000? That's 30%!

If money is no problem get the Sammy.

Yeap, some forumers in the [H]ardForum just spice things up and make a big noise about this S vs A panel comparison ,in the end, I dont see any big different that makes ppl stray away from A and also C panel

Yes S panel is better factory default but NOT MUCH and if you think you got S panel and you have the best LCD, you are wrong, TN panel is still inferior too other panel type like S-IPS, S-PVA bla bla

Oh thanks for the info. Seen some pics before but did not know it was supposed to have a higher contrast ratio. Of course that must be with MagicBright? Any info on what the contrast ratio is without MagicBright?

Also, the back of that monitor is fugly, and doesn't look VESA compatible.

I'm not sure if it's only me or not..
I always feel that the design of Samsung is always failed...

Samsung did made some great looking LCD, but they cost like fark..
Selling point is the design..

Huh don't get your reasoning, first you say design fail, but right after you say they are great looking?

Seems that Samsung is the premier LCD vendor now?

Samsung is still the Best in the market atm eventhough there is a slight differences of the A, S and C panel.

About the LG L226WTQ user, do you all notice very bad ghosting issue?
User from anandtech advised to get the L226WT, w/o Q and with 5ms respond time is better.

In a sense of save more for a better GC to power up the monitor..LOL..Anyway, i am using the Samsung 753DFX 17" CRT Monitor.I am sure jumping towards 22" LCD would be a huge step. Its estimated to arrive at 28 May though..
