Nah, just helping a friend of mine building a new rig. Have limited budget to spend so is limited to roughly RM500 for a new LCD monitor..LOL..Dont worry, i am not getting another secondary screen. Unless it dropped down to RM300, then i might consider..LOL...

When is yours coming?

Lol thanks for advertising tongue.gif
But if you ask me, for 17" range I'll take the Samsung 732N wink.gif It has DVI unlike most of the 17" out there , for the price, its a nice buy

The price of LCD is going up soon, or so I heard from my supplier. smile.gif

LOL..I know cause i got the qoutation from you. As of now, i am just trying to see some options before making my mind for my friend on which to take. Samsung seems promising with DVI but how does it compare to the other 17" at the same price range?

Acer 17 with speakers, quality wise, you know sweat.gif
BenQ 17 FP73G (Been using it for a long time) 5ms, very nice but it cost abit more wink.gif
Samsung 740N - 8ms , spec inferior than 732N which has 5ms + 700:1 contrast
LG - Not really sure about the 17" tongue.gif

Try to use some cloth and press on it for a few sec and see if its gone , it might be a stuck pixel ,if its still there, then most probably its a dead pixel ,call Dell to see if its able to exchange a new one for you smile.gif

But some people are saying Dell only accept 1 to 1 exchange for 7 dead pixel or less. Maybe someone need to clarify this..

It is a stuck pixel, not a dead pixel. A dead pixel is always black. Stuck pixel is usually red or green. And the rubbing and pressing method don't usually work. I tried that on more than 20 LCD with stuck pixel, only fixed a dot so far.

There are some programs that you can run that can unstuck the pixel. Google for it.

Don't even bother trying the program. Majority of the time it won't work. If the pixel is colored it is a stuck pixel. If it is completely black, it is dead.

Yes, dead pixel wise, dell have a policy of exchanging 1 to 1 only for 7 dead pixel and above. Maybe you could as them to RMA?

I seriously dont think Dell is going to refund you in any way. I am not sure whats the problem but other people have stated it is due to stuck pixel. Maybe get some oppinion from them on what to do or even better, give Dell a direct call on how to solve the problem. Maybe they could send a technician over to check out the problem...

If I'm not mistaken u can get full refund within 30 days of the item received but u gotta pay for the courier fee for Dell to repick the item back from u. Once u get back ur refund for returned purchase, u can reorder again from Dell thumbup.gif .

This happened before 2 years ago when many returned their 24" LCD to get PC Fair's bargain tongue.gif
