QUOTE(ashx @ Sep 11 2007, 11:27 AM)
I'm saving up for a setup to better spend my hard earn cash to upgrade what little quality game time i have sad.gif

For awhile, i was considering buying the biggest/baddest LCD screen i can afford but after reading the earlier pages, i stumbled across WSGF powered by Matrox  TH2G. I knew about this company waaay back last century ehhe any how i forgotten about it. Now with its latest product, a LOT of games are supported for more "Immersive" gaming experience  drool.gif  So instead of spending 2-3k for ONE LCD ... it's almost more worth while to get 3 19" to be 3840 x 1024  reso (3x1280 x 1024) Since now its about 6-7xx a pop for a 19 incher plus the gizmo. It's about the same.

Anyone has on hand experience on this? Or bought of the unit? Do share.
*
1st of all the setup cost aint cheap as well on this so call surround gaming. Let break out the cost as below
19 inch lcd nowdays would cost bout rm650 for 1 so 3 would be almost close to 2k
The matrox triplehead cost bout 399 usd if not mistaken and its equivalent to bout rm1.3k
Also the power consumption of 3 lcd should be higher as compare to one
Graphic card power required to render things at the highest resolution possible, 3840x1024. Lowest resolution of 1920x480 sweat.gif I dont know how ugly it will looks when compare directly to a 1920x1200 27 or 28inch monitor

And by looking at the resolution, the image is indeed by stretch too widely. Also I dont think to see the plastic bezel of the lcd monitor which seperate each monitor, even if you line them up properly, where you still see the image on screen spliting up. For me I rather go for a large wide screen to had a more comfortable viewing then this.

This will highly depends on your usage. To me now its just look bit too small as I use my monitor as a tv nowdays where I sleep on my bed to enjoy all of my movies and series.

guys, about the samsung 226BW. I heard that there are S , C and A panels which the S is the awesome , A is still fine and C is the worst 1 which can be determine by looking at the rear of the monitor.

but today i went to shop and go adn look for the sticker behind the monitor, it doesnt show any S,C or A. It's juz blank with " model 226BW " it dun even have the [R] right of it.

then i look down and it shows "Made in Dongguan, China". So, which panel could it be ?

some corrections

It's 299 USD = so roughly 1.051k ++ laugh.gif
1920x480 is actually 640 x 480 spread to 3 monitors horizontal. And who the heck do 640 x 480 reso rclxub.gif
It's has nothing to do with the GC when you use this gizmo as it just display/spread it into 3 separate 1280 x 1024 screens of information, and displays across three independent 1280 x 1024 monitors so you can use it right out of the box with your current GC . Granted you would not get the highest possible reso compared to a real 28 incher but 3840 to 1920 is quite a bit of a view. Read THIS for some review.

And the bezel thingy.. i guess it's kinda depends on ones tolerence. Do agree with you some points, wanted to know if anyone in malaysia tried this thumbup.gif

3840 compare to 1920 is indeed a quite a bit of view, but do remember where usually a desktop monitor sits, where usually in front of the users only. I try to put along my 28 and 24 side by side, in which I think should be roughly equal to 3x 19inch monitor sitting side by side, and I dont feel comfortable looking at both the screen together. The added up screen size is just too wide for me to keep my eyes focus on to all the time, at least that for me.

I dont think anyone here had posted up their setup using the matrox triple head but you can always be the pioneer to start it, since you look quite confident on it. And also to get it in local retail shop aint that easy, where I guess you need to get it through online purchase.

posted mine, TH2Go analog, in the workstation pics section long time ago...using nView was able to force a single 3840x2048 display for 3d gaming by combining 5 displays (with another DH2Go digital) through one 8800gtx.. almost 8Mpixels... and still able to game decently...

DH2go unfortunately needs to claim warranty or firmware update...

I think if it is made in china it does not confirm that it is a C panel.
There are some S panels that are made in China.

Need to check in the hidden menu or open up the bezel in order to confirm it.

i've juz bought a 226BW but there was no 1440x900 settings for me to choose. 1280x800 is way too small and 1680x1050 is too big, 1440x900 is just ok for me but there seems no option for me to choose. Im using 162.18 Nvidia driver with vista.

after getting used to 22", 24" aint that big too...
although watching HD movie on it is superb, but when on FPS gaming, some people will rclxub.gif on big screen laugh.gif

but then, if just use it to watch normal SD movie, then on 24" it will have more pixelation if watching too close.

226BW is 22" LCD, so u can only set 1680 x 1050 resolution. Other resolution will results blurry/stretched images.

hi there...
i'm using 226BW,

i want to ask a few question here.

1) When i press the auto adjustment button, it say it is locked. Why is that?
2) Not only that, my menu button also is locked. I couldn't adjust my H&V - position, the colors, sharpness and such..

btw, i'm using 7600GT..
