or play at lower 16:10 resolutions.

Would playing at that scale help in generating better framerate?

It should right? For example playing at 800x600 would give better framerates compared to 1024x768

If you have time. visit a shop to check it out. Nothing beats personally seeing how images appear on the lcd yourself. I'm also undecided between 19, 20 or 22". Got to take into consideration budget, gfx card and how I feel abt the lcd.

Gaming in WS gives you different feels and approach as well, not just movies.

Oh..I misuderstood your point there..LOL..

I thought you were saying playing at a non widescreen scale is going to produce better framerates than the 16:9 widescreen scale..LOL..

If its lower RESOLUTION, then yes, it will give better framerates..

Wait till you try 1080p and you will notice the big difference there...

Even in 720p, you can still see some pixelation even though its not too obvious..

how is the viewsonic compared to your dell ?
*
Not bad I would say. Indeed I like it more due to its size. Fonts on 1920x1200 on 24inch sometimes mights looks bit small and hard to read but on a 27.5inch screen, fantastic I would say. Also I would say this monitor is totally worth buying for its price, and all the tv connectivity that it comes along, composite, rca, hdmi, d-sub and 1080p support. Too bad I had no xbox 360 or ps3 to test it out. Maybe will give it a more detail review if time allow la

Retail price is bout rm2.3k+, which I think consider quite a reasonable price. Below 2k would be bit hard la. So far in local market we dont actually had much option for 26 to 28 inch range monitor, where 26 inch one would be acer 26. 27 one will be dell 2707 and I dont think samsung 275t is available yet and price should be price even higher as compare to dell 2707 which is selling now for rm3999.

I'm saving up for a setup to better spend my hard earn cash to upgrade what little quality game time i have sad.gif

For awhile, i was considering buying the biggest/baddest LCD screen i can afford but after reading the earlier pages, i stumbled across WSGF powered by Matrox TH2G. I knew about this company waaay back last century ehhe any how i forgotten about it. Now with its latest product, a LOT of games are supported for more "Immersive" gaming experience drool.gif So instead of spending 2-3k for ONE LCD ... it's almost more worth while to get 3 19" to be 3840 x 1024 reso (3x1280 x 1024) Since now its about 6-7xx a pop for a 19 incher plus the gizmo. It's about the same.

Anyone has on hand experience on this? Or bought of the unit? Do share.
