S730 sub isn't 3 drivers. It's only 1.
Nowadays a lot of speakers are using this bass reflex membrane. S730 sub isn't ported like S350DB.
I tell you what, go and audition Edifier latest S360DB. I just saw it on Lazada and it's something that I long feel Edifier should be doing. Bookshelf speakers with wireless subwoofer.
I have used quite a number of Edifier speakers.
S2000
S730
R2800
I have auditioned the S350DB and although it does sound more balanced than S730, I still feel S730 is a different kind of beast. In fact I'm using it as my living room main driver and it has no problem filling it up with sound. The only thing you'll have to worry is annoying your neighbours. That's because it won't shine until you get to 50-60% volume at least. That's why many feel S350DB is better. How often do you crank it up? I had mine at least 75% volume for once a week or so.
Given that S730 is about 1.2k while the newer model is 1.5k, I would say check out the new model. Bookshelf will definitely sounds better than tiny satellites for music and you still get a wireless sub which you can choose to turn on freely when you want to watch some movies. Grab your mp3 player and go for audition. Best way to find out.
