my asus L2 died some time ago... then, when i was free 1 night, i decided to gut out all the parts from the laptop... found a lot of interested things..... i'm wondering if there is a way to make the lcd screen to work for my pc... i bought an external hdd casing for the hardrive (20GB), now it's my removable storage... nothing much... I'm also expecting some1 to tell me wat to do wif the processor (i supposed it's a P4 1.6) & the ram (Kingston DDR 400 ValueRAM) if it's ok, i'd like to ask for tutorial to make the keyboard and the touch pad to work for pc... p/s: try not to be too harsh on me for i'm not very familiar with electronics This post has been edited by jaxmarine: May 23 2007, 10:48 AM

ur laptop skin definitly is reuseable, it just that u have to google the wiring diagram. i thin from there u can do the extension of cable of power supply N VGA.

thanks guys... u guys r being really helpful... but the lcd controller is too expensive for me now since i'm a little over budget at the moment how 'bout selling them? to some1 who needs replacements parts... i can let go the whole set with ram & cd-rom plus all that parts that come along for RM150-RM200 say... (no HDD because i've taken them out, plus who would ever wanted a 20gb old hdd anyway)

QUOTE(jaxmarine @ May 28 2007, 06:46 PM) the lcd controller was a little too expensive... cost around RM600+... almost the price of a 17" LCD leh... my asus lcd was only about 14-15" haih..... wat to do... no point... & b4 the laptop died, i found that the lcd screen was a little "dark" or "yellow", or some people call it "not bright enough"... any suggestion for me wat's going on? so that i could prevent my other monitors to get the same problem so ex.. any other cheaper way beside using lcd controller?

everything i caught from google was too "technical" and getting the wiring diagram for the laptop was either expensive or unreachable website. Decided to give up the set to a computer recycle shop & see how much the trash worth...

LOL. poor thing. Go google it and give it a try on how to reuse the LCD. But then , if total cost comes up to RM 500 , u can literally forget about it unless u got too much money in ur pocket to burn.
