Hi guys as per title im figuring out which to choose, in my list for air cooler is (Noctua NH-D15) meanwhile for AIO cooler is (fractal design celsius S24 or Corsair H100I v2).
my mind keeps telling me to go for air cooler somehow. currently owning a cooler master AIO with 1 fan radiator and it perform so crappy! on my i5 8600k idle 38c default speed no OC......

my load temperature test with prime95 small fft test on stock non OC reading is about 68c (4.3ghz boost),
if play games etc one hour check back about 57c - 60c max (all in room non air cond temperature) with aircond wont see any much different maybe drop about 2c differences. my casing only have 1 front 140mm fan suck in.
my current 1 fan AIO is "cooler master lite 120"... not to say very noisy on full load.
i plan to OC a little but currently dare not cause have tested before on 4.7ghz prime95 small fft 5 minutes and the max temp on 1 of the core hits 83c, not even really start to final tweak vcore yet just roughly 1.27v, tried 1.26v failed prime test less than 5 min.
as i know AIO will gets more hotter after longer run this is only just the beginning so i just stop it lol. my past experience with air cooler so far seems like air cooler temperature is more constant and easy to catch of hold, also cooldown faster compare to AIO.
Im not familiar with these new intel 8th gen 14nm processor, as my last build was 8 years back intel Quad 9400 finally put to sleep last week ... that old processor idle at 32c so maybe im still not used to this 8th gen 6 core proc idle behavior...

thx for the info bro, seems like definitely wont regret tho noctua.

agree with u bro, i'm more concern towards long run and reliability issue, after 1 or 2 years for air coolers just take it out and wash the dust away. will get the noctua D15S for more better clearance height instead of D15 cause my casing seems very risky touching the side panel maybe couldn't close. By the way my casing is "be quiet silent base 600"
Anyway saw lowyat have selling "be quiet dark rock 3" "be quiet dark rock TF" air cooler, seems like not bad too, will google about it more first only decide

how is it so far using D15S? the weight very heavy right, about 1kg. can u feel it stressing the motherboard? cooling performance very great?

thats a very good temperature with it 4.7ghz @ 1,18v, sounds like a good chip, very low voltage at 4.7 thx for the info man

1 year already since my first post, using corsair AIO H150i 360mm so far so good the temperature really still the same cool like the first day not even 1c difference, and very very less dust. 3 or 4 years will change again. keeps my delidded 8600k at 4.80ghz oc 62c max with very heavy task or gaming etc...very silent and zero rpm fan mode..the fan usually stays idle unless gaming only starts to turn on...
