To carry a symbolic meaning of "treasure the other half within oneself", so there is no need to show it to others.

I think that the real meaning is probably to make the whole male band more expensive and charge you for that. Having a diamond on the "outer" side probably makes the whole ring to be less appealing to male targer customers, so hide it inside and mark up the price will be more appropriate.

Why Tiffany btw?
