and maybe lots of people wanna know, how to find out the REAL refresh interval. the key idea is "Time and Sales". try to find the smallest time GAP between interval refresh data in ur time and sales.

for bursa station:
[attachmentid=252348]
the smallest refresh gap i can found is 10 seconds, so bursastation refresh interval is 10 seconds.

and for the game.itradecimb.com or klserealtime.blogspot.com
[attachmentid=252352]
refresh interval, every minute on fixed 40 seconds. with exception for start trading first minute from 9.00.00 to 9.01.00 , it do updates a few times. i check it also with the most active stocks for itradecimb, and refresh interval pattern is similar.

and the peoples using osk, come and tell us ur refresh interval

FYI, CIMB's refresh interval is every second, but their software doesnt show the seconds number. u can check it by using packet sniffing software...
*
yea, game.itradecimb.com is refresh is every second. but it dont perform well on peak hours compare to bursa station.

game.itradecimb.com is playing catchup with bursa station and is losing quite bad on peak times.
example: stock A is 70669.
after 5sec(lots of people using), game.itradecimb.com shows 70329
and then after the next update of 5 sec, game.itradecimb.com shows 70669.

reasons: either the low server load during peak time or game.itradecimb.com refresh all data, instead of ONLY the page we currently view

EDIT: game.itradecimb.com sometimes do win bursa station (and of course on bursa station frequent DOWN days) but on normal day bursa station, statistically, bursa station wins game.itradecimb.com
and the game site is fun, with a loophole....
i guess nothing beats the real thing

its rm 0.50 x 3% which will be 0.015 per share (its really its ONE and a half CENT)

1 lot (100 shares) = RM 1.50

lol... jk only. I'm too noob to estimate the correct time to go in laugh.gif gain some experience here although nothing materialistic yet biggrin.gif

and i also worries bout osk this quarters financials.
u know, early of the year, they released damm lots of call warrants with small conversion ratio and all of them shot sky high....

all those call warrant will take a toll on osk

i bet osk learn their lesson and then made the conversion ratio big enough like conversion ratio 10

tks for the article. But to make things sure first because I have no experience with LAs,  is it confirm that Ramunia-LA has no conversion price or expiry date at all? When the maturity date comes, does the Ramunia-LA that I buy to hold automatically converts to its Mother share, how do we know that it's converted. Is it completely different from warrants/CAs? I appreciate your answer before plunging.

ICULS abbreviation is Irredeemable Convertible "Unsecured" Loan Stock

its not really secured. beside if its really secure, it will be called ICSLS, haha, just kidding.

there got some "risk", thats why its much lower than the mother price.

do u notice most of the call warrants are secure as it is guaranteed by an investment bank.....

QUOTE(IceQTurbo @ Jul 2 2007, 05:26 PM)
I bought 50,000 units of Genting-cd @0.07 last time, now the price is moving around from 0.04-0.05 only. So, i am thinking of keeping it until it expires. Anyone knows how to calculate the gain/loss upon maturity. The exercise price is 7.80 and the conversion ratio is 50:1, assuming the closing price for mother share is 8.50, will I make a gain? According to my friend, this is an American style call warrant, therefore I can't convert my warrant to mother shares, and they will pay me cash upon maturity. However, I do not know how to calculate whether I'll make a gain/loss.

Any advice whether I should hold it until it matures?
*
assuming all info u give is correct

cost of buying 50000 units of genting-cd at 0.07 = 50000x0.07=3500
1 unit of call warrant cash settlement = (8.50-7.80/50) = 0.014
u got 50000 units, and the cash settlement is 50000x0.014 = 700

profit/loss = cash settlement - buy warrant cost
=700-3500
= -2800

u loss bout rm 2800

Note: not including brokerage and exercise cost cause i dont know how much they charge for exercise service charge. i do suggest u always avoid call warrants with high numbers of conversion ratio.

bout ur question "Any advice whether I should hold it until it matures?", i cant answer it, but deep in our own hearts, we both already know the answers.

QUOTE(viper_1129 @ Jul 2 2007, 05:40 PM)
I thought American style can convert any time and I don't think you will get cash upon maturity but when expire you would receive shares at the agreed upon ratio.
*
american style, can exercise anytime. and the genting-cd is cash settled means when u exercise, u get cash settlement
