log in on PC, still got USD2.50 converted from the points left from my old account

So I heard now xbox is region free, means my US account shouldn't have any issues buying & using any contents from US locally here in M'sia? Last time need to use VPN to buy...

just make sure your xbox is connected using VPN to a US IP

Have tried redeemed a free month of game pass from MS Rewards using the Xbox via VPN and succeed
I assume it's the same for XBL redemption also

last time tried to redeem using PC all cannot, I even managed to get hold of a virtual phone number to get the SMS verification code, but still failed.
Only after I've read of Reddit that some managed to redeemed it from Xbox, which doesn't need phone verification

don't bother to try smartDNS with xbox, it doesn't work, neither do hotspot from phone or PC with VPN
either you need to share the VPN from a compatible PC or a router that supports VPN dialing

redeemed my MS Rewards using the xbox last night, confirmed it works
just make sure your xbox is connected to VPN and redeem using the Reward apps

redeemed 29000 points for 12 months of XBL Gold, and 1900 points for $1.25 into my wallet
I can redeem another 3 months of Gold for 15000 points, but think not worth it as 12 months is 29000 point only.

Got the RM183 XBL Gold code from Seagm, then upgrade the gold + game pass into Ultimate, I'm good till Nov 2021

that part is a bit of hassle
few ways to do it

either you own a VPN dial-up capable router <- easiest & most straight forward method, but most router with that functionality aren't cheap
or own a PC/laptop with wifi card that supports hosted network <- luckily my HTPC supports this, I done it using this method
or a PC with an extra LAN port to create virtual router
or a rooted phone that support VPN hotspot sharing

instructions are everywhere once you done some simple googling

your wifi card need to support hosted network for it to work

use VPN to get US IP, get yourself a MS Rewards account, do their daily missions & Bing search for reward points
you can accumulate few hundred points daily if you're hardworking
few months down the road you can redeem the points for rewards like XBL memberships or gift cards
don't be greedy to switch region to rack up more points, stay with one region, else you gonna get flagged and banned
once banned, all those months of work are going down the drain

just make sure you connect your xbox to vpn to redeem the points for rewards

you can keep that 12 months XBL Gold for future use

if you know where to look, there are a lot of such seller selling the account subscription this way, be it Spotify, PSN or almost any accounts that can be renewed online cheaply.
The catch is, you'll need to provide your login to them.

Someone did some digging by checking their billing history, and found out their subscription was renewed/extended using a suspicious credit card details by the seller.
And most likely those CCs are stolen, or are one of those prepaid cards involved in money laundering activities

Long story short, you're actually buying stolen goods

and if MS decided to do a crackdown by tracking those accounts with stolen CCs? there's a good chance you can kiss your XBL account goodbye


anyway, if the seller is selling the accounts/codes waaaay lower than the official price? something fishy is going on there
most likely something illegal is going on behind it

guys, I strongly do not recommend you all to get your game pass from those seller that either sell you an account or you need to give your account details to them.
In most of the cases, their fund are coming from stolen credit cards/funds, MS will have a records on the payment details used on your account, once they've flagged it, it's very likely your account will be banned as well, worst case scenario: your console are banned as well.

I suggest you buy the codes instead, safer that way

try getting the GPU upgrade from your console directly, make sure your console is connected to VPN first, in your case VPN to US region

that's how I managed it last time when my local CC doesn't work

for digital ver, for me you just need to switch region on your console and go download the DLC or contents for that region
digital game is tied to your account, doesn't matter what region you're in, as long as the region got it and you can download it
I have gone 100% digital this gen

Disc not sure, but should be region free tho
but those restrictions usually are imposed by the game publishers not the console

cross region Disk & DLC compatibility will be highly depending on the game publishers
so it's depending on the games, similar to scenario in PS

but here I think 90% of us already moved to 100% digital, so the compatibility is no longer an issue for us

to create new account, actually any county also can, as you can easily change region later on, MS doesn't lock your account to a certain region like Sony
but most of the new players will choose either SG or US

Local Xbox discs are rare, as most game shop doesn't want to carry them as there's very low demand for it, but for those do mostly are brought in from SG, so basically they're R3
2nd hand xbox game market also is pretty small here compared to PS, so if you're thinking to do like PS, buy new game, quickly finish it and sell if off, you won't have a very high success rate,
as the 2nd hand xbox game market are sort of killed by MS pushing hard on Gamepass and region free digitalization
