Have been talking a fair bit about the damaged master bedroom door by the laminate flooring installer so here is a picture:

Attached Image

This is after their first attempt at a repair; definitely unacceptable so I will speak to them again tomorrow morning

More areas have been touched-up so am including a few pictures to show the current progress below:

Attached Image

Completed touch-up works for the curtain pelmet and installation of chandelier and eyeball lights in the study room

Attached Image

Repositioned eyeball lights in living room after installation of air cond to "balance" placement of lights with the air cond, L-box and brick wall

Attached Image

Adjusted placement of switches to allow for space for placement for the pendant lights at intended positions above bedside tables in the second bedroom

Most of my lights in the house are 3000K LED eyeball lights from Philips. Outside lighting i.e. porch, yard, balcony is 4000K. Don't have any cool white lighting (above 6000K) at all as we don't fancy white light at all

are you also an N'Dira owner? exactly same model no for the flooring?

Definitely 3000K. Some warm yellow lights are 2800K which is much more yellow / warm in colour. Quite happy with the 3000K colour temperature we chose. Got "hotel feel" haha.

Attached Image

Laying of hot water pipes and connection to centralised heater and pressure pump for main toilets completed; re-tiling and installation of fittings (rain shower head, mixers, etc) pending

Attached Image

Pre-final layer of the cement render feature wall in the master bedroom; some minor touch-up to be carried out before applying the final finishing coat wub.gif

Did a quick clean up of the place over the weekend to prepare for cabinet installation. Toilet re-tiling and installation of fittings to continue this week.

Also went for an inspection for my custom made sofas last Saturday prior to delivery next Saturday (tentative).

Attached Image

L-sofa for main living room; picked a cream textured sofa to complement the Scandinavian theme

Attached Image

Italian tan leather sofa; extra deep and comfortable for taller people like myself

Attached Image

Close up texture of the Italian leather

Was quite happy with the sofas, especially the Italian tan leather one. Can't wait for delivery this weekend along with the rest of the furniture. Ideally would like to only deliver after completion of cabinets but the manufacturers are unwilling to store for much longer so am forced to have them delivered in a couple of days.

Same goes for the supplier for the electrical appliances who has been pestering me to deliver my order ASAP. Will try to hold him off for as long as possible but may decide to deliver soon anyway if he persists.

The company is called Zolano but I got the sofas at a special export price as a personal favour as my family is in the industry.

You can drop by their showroom along Old Klang Road if interested but will have to pay regular retail price.

I'm a little concerned about this too. Mine is an end lot so there is even less cover around the backyard area. For now, I have purchased a rain cover for my washing machine but will decide what to do in the future.

Had an extremely busy Saturday with deliveries from 3 different furniture manufacturers and the cabinet contractor starting work all on the same day.

Attached Image

First furniture delivery from Penang (primarily Scandinavian furniture); packing was top class in solid boxes. Will keep everything in the boxes for now until the renovation is completed.

Attached Image

Third delivery (sofas) with part of the second delivery in the picture (dining table on the right). Will also keep all the wrapping on to keep the dust away off the furniture until renovation work is complete.

Attached Image

Tan leather sofa and sideboard for the upstairs living hall. All still wrapped up of course.

Attached Image

Completed re-tiling of toilets after finishing installation of hot water plumbing; pending final installation of fittings (rain shower, hot water mixer, etc); mirrors have been mounted too!

Attached Image

The kitchen cabinet contractor delivered some partially pre-fabricated cabinet modules on Friday and finally started installation on Saturday after a long, long wait.

Attached Image

Due to the limited wall space available because we have so many windows in our kitchen, we had to grudgingly block up one of our windows to make enough space for our double door fridge; the only other clear wall space available (look for the cored hole to the right of this area in the previous picture) will be used to mount the kitchen hood. Farewell dear window; you will be missed! cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Some more progress pics!:

Attached Image

Kitchen cabinet installation progress as of Sunday afternoon. Looking good. Won't have the opportunity to check on the progress until Thursday night as I will be on an overseas business trip from Sunday night to Thursday night.

Attached Image

Another angle. Have asked for the island to be 1000mm from the main counter to have a comfortable working space. We are trying to maximise the space available for the dining table + seating adjacent to the island but we shall see how it goes. Also, the next slots the cabinet contractor have available for installation are on Tuesday and Wednesday. We shall see.
