Ok, I am using Digi and having bad signal in my house, barely achieve 1 bar or E. Outside seems ok, with 4G LTE available. Might planning to change to Celcom or Maxis but the plan doesnt seem to be as good as Digi. Both service providers signal is only slightly better anyway.

I am planning to purchase mobile signal booster

Now, after looking online, I've seen multiple models serving for specifically frequency band 1800 or 2600. I know from online reading that 1800 will offer higher coverage, but slower speed compared to 2600.

Anyone know if I can get 4G (with decent speed 3mbs) by boosting 1800Mhz range? Or do I need 2600Mhz?

how u gonna connect your hp to the external antenna? DIY?  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

bro, thats why u see the link I provide. There will be 2 antennas. 1 outside home, it will then connected to the booster. Then install another antenna inside home which is also connected to the booster output. Basically, u take outdoor signal, amplify it and release the amplified signal inside home. based on my reading that is how it should be.

But I have concern on the frequency bands available vs the booster itself. Cuz, booster that cater for full range frequency band is damn expensive.

yeap i see it... i know how is works. but u can try it and review it  laugh.gif

mostly user are using modem to get a stable internet connection. the amplifier works like a power supply to the external antenna, as long cable will have signal lost. from speed wise, b3 1800 speed is faster than b7 2600. if your area is congested then will be different.

then when come to your hp, does it rooted or none rotted? if u are using digi, digi are using 3band, b3, b7 and b8. if your hp are none rotted u will get a random band see which ever some first.
this is true too...sharing with everyone rolleyes.gif  rolleyes.gif

Thank you for the info. I am not rooting it. I live in Felda area LOL. I guess, I will just need to check what is the available band in my area. If all existed, and in this case I am boosting 1800mhz, the phone will definitely take the strongest signal right.

Weird if b7 1800 is faster than 2600, cuz the 2600 equipment is much more expensive.

Well, the antenna will be inside my house, so I dont think others will receive good signal. Except those staying inside.

b7 2600 only available in 4G+ area. if normal area only have 4G u will only have b3 1800 and b8 signal.

i suggest u better invest into a modem to test it first example b618-65D, incase not good then sell of the modem. antenna boost not really give much effect if the device/modem itself internal antenna not strong.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

that is sim card modem to create hot spot. Will it improve signal receiving? The problem that I have is, I have very bad signal reception at home. Thanks for the suggestion tho

My company use this company one My MB
Boosting from 1bar to 4 bar but cost is high and we use it at remote area to use wireless broadband.
There must be exiting signal to boots or there will no help sweat.gif

Personally I tried different antenna with my Huawei B525, include external flat type, bullet type but end up best result with original Huawei antenna. doh.gif
Speed and bar before : 2 bar / 30M DL, 4 bar / 60M DL (Digi)
Speed and bar before : 1 bar / 8M DL, 3 bar / 10M DL (Yes4G)
Speed and bar before : 2 bar / 20M DL, 4 bar / 40M DL (Maxis)

some update. I purchased mymobilebooster and paid using installment. So far even though source signal quite weak, I am satisfied with what I get considering the area that I am living.

Source signal (outdoor) - Band 3, -100 dpm
Boosted indoor - getting 4G (band 3), -80 to 90 dpm. DL speed around 14Mbs.
previous indoor quality - 0 to 1 bar 3G or H. 4G basically non existant.

Only problem is signal stability during online gaming causing lag from time to time. Later I am trying to relocate the outdoor antenna see if I can get better coverage.

thanks for the update...
mind share the price...
including installation or not
planning to get one due to 4G+ only outside of my house 😂

booster page refer here. they have multiple products depend on what you need. I bought the rm1985 set. Bit pricey but I dont really have much choice. After antenna relocation, I'm getting a stable connection now. I even purchased digi mobile broadband for wifi use and terminate streamyx for good. Really satisfied so far.

Installation is straight forward. Plug in cables and turn on power supply. They will assist you as necessary through whatssap.

The only thing that is difficult for some people or lady is to install the outdoor antenna on pole, indoor antenna and to route the cables on walls (hammer/drill etc). I just DIY it, or you may ask others for help too.

extreme problems call forth extreme solution. TM net is giving me headache by not fixing the service in my area. Disruption almost 2 months bruce.gif bangwall.gif .Been complaining to MCMC and TM net but problem still not solved. If only I had invested in this sooner innocent.gif

Guy, have a question here, let Say I stay at a residential area and plan to install this booster thing. Will my neighbour around me benefit and take up the traffic of the network from my booster as well? Or can I set it to be non-public that others can’t connect to??
*
Yes everyone around you will gain benefit but I honestly think it is only minor. Reason being, the indoor antenna booster for my case is actually quite weak. I placed it in the living room. Full bar in the living room but in the bedroom, the signal is not so strong (2 bars and sometimes drop to H or 3G). So, I do not think neighbours beyond your walls will gain much. Of course this will also depend on your incoming signal strength and booster anyway, but I can only speak on my condition.

im experiencing the same condition as ts with weak to non existent E inside house while outside is pretty good and communications tower only nearby

so far how is your experience ts?

So far so good. Even during rain, the green light on the device gone (meaning quality drop), but the 4G still there, and speed still maintained at least over 10mb. Been playing online games with no lag too.
