Need some tips here.

What do u do when your kid/s wailing out so stay with other parent when it is your turn for them to stay with you? How do u handle it? (Parents separated and lived quite a distance but same state).

Like crying non stop almost to full blown tantrum

crying in high pitched voice. die die want it. lol.

try to subdue the crying with things the kids like.

u know them. they must have a weakspot.

Perhaps a change of scenery by taking the kid out can cure the tantrum? Or ask the other parent's help to soothe the kid by phonecall/videocall-- probably last ditched effort, though.

Well, i did try by pre emp first by buying his fav ice cream after seeing his gloomy face, then after when the ice cream finish, got into the car going to my home, the crying starts. It is disheartening and hear wrecking to drive in that condition. I broke down too and i just cant bear it. Only thing i can do is watch him cry.

But i feel guilty

Tried too, by calling my ex. The kid will stop crying and keep quite. After call ends, the crying and pleading starts again. Too many times already until i worry i have further damage my kid's emotion.

Anyway, its either one, he cant choose both as u guys are separated.

so impossible to find a remedy for that (unless u guys get back together).

The only way is time.
Perhaps you need to be patient, and just let him cry.
While still doing things like bring him to the zoo or bring him see a kids movie (nowadays have kid-friendly cinemas) etc.

In the beginning he will cry, but in the end, he knows he has to suck it up.
it will take a few times, but be strong, in the end he will start to enjoy the time with you as well.

Yes, the father that the kid wants. Well i guess being patient is the best i can do now. Hopefully by time it will be all ok. Thank you

Always frequent to the mall till i get bored and comes back a bit poorer. But other times when i cant divert to trip to mall, the meltdown begins. I guess i always need to use diversion tricks and improve on it.
