Perhaps a change of scenery by taking the kid out can cure the tantrum? Or ask the other parent's help to soothe the kid by phonecall/videocall-- probably last ditched effort, though.

Well, i did try by pre emp first by buying his fav ice cream after seeing his gloomy face, then after when the ice cream finish, got into the car going to my home, the crying starts. It is disheartening and hear wrecking to drive in that condition. I broke down too and i just cant bear it. Only thing i can do is watch him cry. But i feel guilty |

After call ends, the crying and pleading starts again. Too many times already until i worry i have further damage my kid's emotion. |

Perhaps you need to be patient, and just let him cry. While still doing things like bring him to the zoo or bring him see a kids movie (nowadays have kid-friendly cinemas) etc. In the beginning he will cry, but in the end, he knows he has to suck it up. it will take a few times, but be strong, in the end he will start to enjoy the time with you as well. |

But other times when i cant divert to trip to mall, the meltdown begins. I guess i always need to use diversion tricks and improve on it. Thank you |
