btw...

if u want to imerse it in water/alcohol or dry it in a microwave oven..

remember to take out the LCD screen...

the screen will be dead if water enters it sweat.gif

same goes to heat whistling.gif

but it should be able to stand the heat of a hairdryer though...hehe...

quote=ne3ro,May 20 2007, 04:11 PM]I often bring my E398 to the bathroom when i'm in hostel (afraid of being stealed and to listen to music when i'm bathing in the night. My hostel is so sunyi one) and several times water got inside it.

When it happened, my keypad cannot be used. only the on/off button works.I remove the battery for 24 hours, and it's back to normal,hehe..now my phone is immune to the water tongue.gif

FYI on the E398,the num pad/menu key/call key are on a diff circuit board than the off/red key...

so if the num pad/green/menu key short at least u can turn on ur phone lol...

the off kley is also important coz the off key is one of the keys to get the phone into bootloader mode...

in other words, the place where u wanna go if u wanna flash ur phone... lol...

i was driving this afternoon and rains pour heavily... my hp inside my pant's pocket..

after 1 hour i reached home, the screen getting getting foggy abit... my keypad (1,4,7) is not fuctioning.. i already take out the battery and let it dry...

should i wait 3 days to completely dry and try or should i should send to nokia service centre tomorrow morning? My hp is still under warranty by Sapura/Zitron.

i don't wanna lose my precious nokia... just bought 2 month ago.. cry.gif  cry.gif

warranty is void by water damage...

so good luck convincing the nokia care centre there...

there is a piece of paper inside the phone which changes colour if it comes in contact with a good amount of liquid, which is how phone shop knows if ure lying about water damage...

Happen to me before.. Few years back when I just bought my NK7610.

I suggest you guys to dry it with hair dryer.. Let it blown for 1 hour(min).
With cold air not hot air..

NOTE = Hot air will damage your circuit and LCD!

Added on March 24, 2009, 5:52 pmThere is no such thing as water resistant circuit.. =x

hot air wont damage the circuit, but it might damage the LCD...

the circuit board can withstand pretty high temperatures, so if u wanna dry the phone, best is to dismantle and use hairdryer, with the LCD removed...

How about refrigerator? can ah? But I scared the Lcd ll become foggy, Hang near air con may b can ah.

refrigerator useless...

the condition inside the refrigerator is damp, and water will still be there...

its better to put in hot air as water evaporates faster in hot air, but air con on the other hand shud be OK since the air blown out of the air con have a pretty low humidity levels...
