just go survey for planning to change next 4 tire in my ride

215/55R17

Here my final list.
Bridgestone GR100 = RM335 (promotion price)
Yokohama AE 50  = RM 390
Continental MC6 = RM 366
i just consider if all this tire same cost(because it just RM30 ringgit different only)
which one better ? important is quiet for me of course with together overall performance
*
I'd pick the MC6 out of that list coz it's supposed to be already in UHP category (or at least entry level UHP), while the other 2 are still just mid range category tires.

ae50 very good for quiet.and overall performamce should be good if u are not driving aggresively.
furthermore its japan made.i think the promotional price is less than rm 350 for yokohama.saw it in the website.

That’s a very good price for gr100
Go for that if you prioritize comfort because very quiet and comfy and grip is good as well
Just that the wear is quite fast..

Bridgestone Turanza T005A - launched recently, apparently replacing GR100.

For YOKOHAMA, ADVAN dB V552 should be the one to go for comfort and silent tyre.

Continental CC6 - another alternative.

From my experience, the Yokohama AE50 is moderately quiet only when new. The quietness doesn't last very long as it gets noisier rather quickly, in my case about 15,000 km to 20,000 km mileage with moderate or normal driving (no aggressive driving). The tyres also don't last very long as the tread on the front tyres wear out rather quickly with minor chipping on the tyres after about 20,000 km.

Performance or handling, it is acceptable though the steering is just slightly less sharp than the previous tyres it replaced (Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax). I think it's mainly due to the softer rubber or sidewalls. The only good thing about the AE50 as reported by a review carried out by some Taiwanese motor show on Youtube is the performance in the wet whereby it achieved the best result in shortest braking distance on wet roads and good aquaplanning when pitted against similar class of tyres.

In summary, if you want quiet tyres I think you can get better elsewhere. The new Yokohama Advan dB V552 should be a much better choice than the AE50 and it comes in your 215/55 R17 size. The only thing is it may be much costlier than the AE50. Otherwise I would consider those 2 cheaper options that you listed above. The Goodyear Assurance Triplemax is also another option.

I just bought 4 pieces of AE50 prior raya. Less than a week using it. Initial impression this is not a very quite tyre. Based on the 4 large water dispersion grove.

Agreed on the stopping distance, as compare to my previous China made, the stopping distance is shorter.

Basically my previous experience for 17' tyre the life span is about 40K km +/-.

Earlier stock is Toyo R43, PS3, China made now AE50. This is my 4th set of brand new 17'' tyre. 215-50-17.

I was expecting a little bit more technical explanation from her as she's the head of R&D rather than just marketing talk.

eg:- the curved groves according to our experiments showed 10% increase water dispersion and that results in better wet braking. The silica compound in the rubber which forms a covalent bond helps increase wet handling on a thin film of water. Our data showed nearly 30% increase in coefficient of friction.

Used 70% gone with mc6 for about 4 months in 10k km. Not a durable tyre if used in heavy car and rear wheel car. But its a comfort, silent and good handling in wet&dry.
