Hello ladies, i am currently having hormone imbalance/ irregular periods, they tend to come too early (twice a month) and also having spotting before that.
Used to be okay at some point but recently have this problem again.

I often here Bak Foong pills or EPO (evening primrose oil) are recommended to balance hormones, anyone have experience whether they are effective?

Hi girl, hormone imbalance can be caused by alot of reasons. Recommended to go for gynea and get a better understanding. Bak Fong Pills and EPO do helps, myself is taking EPO, but thats also depend on individual, saying not all people responds the same.

Busy with work ain't a legit reason to skip health visits, you don't wanna discover something nasty too late sweat.gif
Yes you can drink those freshly squeezed pomegranate juice commonly found in supermarkets. Alternatively you can look for pomegranate oil too but this is super rare in Malaysia. Every time I introduce it to someone, they get overly excited with it.

Another one that's good for hormones is maca fruit. Don't bother looking for the fruit, it's native to South America only if I'm not mistaken. So usually people get maca powders & integrate it into their meals.

You can read about them online first.

I have hormonal imbalance issue too.

Went to gynae to scan last year and found I have mild PCOS. My period is very irregular, don't come on time, and last month I sort of missed my period and came 'brownish' discharge (sorry if TMI), Then I went to see a gynae again, he gave me some pills that are supposed to induce my period within 7 days. 2 weeks passed, nothing! And now I started getting brown discharge again. So frustrated!!

I do not want to visit the gynae again because he looks like he just want to faster get rid of me and look at other patients (pregnant mommies). And it's so expensive for each visit...

I tried EPO(cause me to break out), tried bak foong(too heaty made me fever), I don't know what can I take anymore.

Okay.. so just updating my experience, in case it helps other ladies with similar problems.

So.. this time round, my bleeding really abnormal, has barely stopped except a few days before bleeding again.

Due to last time i have actually visited a gynae before just for a general checkup, and didn't have good experience (felt like being rushed off, doctor didn't answer a number of questions that i had, later i realised i had to google some stuff), i tried common home remedies first (because for some people i know, they claimed it helped them with their problems).

Among them are Bak Foong pills, evening primrose oil, but the bleeding hasn't stopped (after 2 months, in between period still come like normal).

As it is hard for me to take day offs during office hours (already going for medical appointments time to time for another issue, not related to this + i have plenty of work assignments i need to be there on the spot), i went for a private women specialist clinic.

The good thing about going for private clinic is same day you can do your scan, no need schedule really long appointments ahead. First time consultation, seems like i have some infection, so was issued antibiotics and some other stuff.

My antibiotics finished and few days later I was still bleeding, so i called the clinic and went again. this time, they do more thorough tests, and scan shows i seem to have symptoms of pcos.

Doctor compared to my first experience with gynae more patient with explaining things to clear my worries. Also explained more detail about my condition, and why they issued first round of antibiotics to eliminate possibility of common infection, before going for more tests and then only issue the right medicine. Nurse also quite friendly.

Advice to the other ladies, if you want to visit a private clinic for tests like this though, be prepared with a few hundred ringgit, but for health things since i find my situation quite abnormal (compared to last time, just wait it out back to usual within a week), so i will say its worth paying for the services. So know yourself, if you know you need to go for a checkup, don't delay too long.

Currently im issued pills to reduce bleeding, while waiting for some test results.

After tests come back, or if i have new medication, later will update more.
