Depends on what the condition of the car to start with.. as expected old car... you do to invest to repair it in some degree.
Comfy level... as expected over engineered Mercedes .. the Great grandpa of C class .. is marvelous.. it has multilink suspension same as the bigger brother W124.. but in tiny body...
I would say compare to Jepunis car.. its one level higher.. even you can bring it touge to Genting while your GF still can comfortable playing with her phone...
It just the 2.0 OHV configuration engine is outdated to modern standard it produce measly 122 HP and 173 of Torque.. if you really want to speed consider the 2.6 6 cylinder engine or transplant the Multivalve 2.2 from W124. the saving grace of 2.0 is when you pay the roadtax...
I did whole lot of restoration which cost more than the time i purchased the car before.. it ranges to 15k just to restored all.. Those multilink suspension and bushing can cost 3k++ alone front and back.. but its all Germany stuffs...
Can't compare engine power with modern car. But I like the idea that it's low power, it's meant for cruising. And it's low power will change your driving style to a more relax one.
What most important is the NVH, if it is as good as modern C or D segment car, then I'll seriously consider it for my as my next car (or a manual Perdana V6).
15k to restore the whole things seems reasonable. Assume you got the car for 10k, total cost amount to 25k only!! A fully functional and comfortable cruiser.
Enjoy your ride and thanks for sharing.
