DX10 exclusive?? Say it isn't so!! I like the sound of the protoss gateway. Teleport to any territory you own. Sweet. Finally, waited so long. The best thing about Starcraft is the story(AOE2 is my favourite multiplayer rts). I can't wait to find out more about those zerg/protoss hybrids and also the Xel'Naga.

QUOTE When asked about system requirements, the panel replied that the requirements haven't been fully finalized, but that the game will support Pixel Shader 2.0 graphics and PCs with either Windows XP or Vista. Yes! No need to worry about dx10. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6171172.html?...cks%3Bstory%3B1 Added on May 19, 2007, 11:33 pmHmm, I don't like how the new siege tank looks. The red turret makes it look like it's trying to kiss you. The new protoss units sound so cool. Waiting for movie to download, hope can see it soon. From ign QUOTE As of right now, Blizzard has no plans to bring StarCraft 2 to consoles. They feel the fees console manufacturers' charges are still too high, and think their games are more suited for the PC platform anyway. Though the game, currently pre-alpha, does not support DX10 right now, it hopefully will in the future. The game will be playable on both Windows XP and Vista operating systems. StarCraft 2 will release when it's ready, says Blizzard. http://pc.ign.com/articles/790/790158p1.htmlWhere did the dx10 rumours spread from......

QUOTE(Kelv @ May 21 2007, 12:12 AM) I wonder any laptop can play Starcraft 2? New Santa rosa model? You mean with the integrated graphics? I don't think so because I read benchmarks despite being good at 3dmark, the new intel integrated is still worse than AMD/Nvidia integrated in gaming.

QUOTE(zephyr07 @ May 28 2007, 07:19 AM) Guys, sorry for barging in- does anyone here know the release date in Malaysia? thinking of spending my summer day finishing the game... sigh Protoss Rules!! darn, the invitation video only shows Protoss units, What happen to the good terrans and the Zerg? Hmm, zerg.. THe last brood war mission shows the discovery of Zerg + protoss unit in a stasis cell. Zerg+Protoss= A Pro Zerg? They want to keep zerg/terran units secret first. I hope we get to see some Xel'Naga and play them maybe in a flashback mission. Has any RTS really used physics for gameplay? If I remember correctly, the aoe3 physics was just eye candy. They'd probably need to raise requirements because if it affects gameplay it'd need to be present even at low graphics.

I just watched the gameplay video. The graphics looked better than the screenshots. Also the physics is just eye-candy at the moment like when the units get destroyed, they break into little pieces and slide around depending on terrain.

QUOTE(pwk1983 @ Jun 1 2007, 11:39 AM) just my humble opinion, I just think if Blizzard can make the look and feel closer to the reality will be better, Terren use more metal colour scheme, Protos use more brownze colour scheme, and must look like old egypt style Nonono! Protoss=blue energy type people or smurfs in armor!

Well this part mentioned medic though who knows if they'll still be there in final game. QUOTE 2. Tech-center & Reactor (2nd picture, and major change ever in starcraft 2) - These are new mechanism of add-on building. - Major production building (aka barrack, factory, starport) uses them. - Tech-center provides capability of creating high tech unit (Ex. medic in barrack, tank in factory) - Reactor provides capability of creating 2 units at same time. (Ex. 2 marines in barrack, 2 Vikings in Factory) - You can not connect both add-on to same building, so you can not train 2 high tech unit at same time (Ex. 2 medic in barrack) Marine+stim packs+medics rock!

New preview http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=0&cId=3161564Firebats have been cut for now. Also this is from sclegacy.com summarizing a german magazine preview. QUOTE Gameplay: You can queue maximal 5 production orders. There are "neutral observatories" which give a sight radius when captured. Ramps can be blocked by destroyable rocks. Protoss: If the Gateway is upgraded to the Warpgate you can warp a unit every 30 seconds into pylon range. Phase Cannons disappear if they leave Pylon range in energy form (although this contradicts Blizzard's statement from last week). Cybernetic Core is the tech-building required to build the Stalkers and the Immortals (another contradiction - Blizzard said on E3 the building is the Twilight Council). High Templars can stasis enemy troops for 15 seconds. Browder said Shield Batteries don't exist, yet. Colossi are about double as expensive as Reavers. Star Relics are visible when they create a cloaking field and they cannot move while it's active. Star Relics can use hallucination. Star Relics got a "Detonate" ability, which kills a unit after a certain amount of time. The Mothership's current price is: 400 minerals, 400 gas and 10 supply. Both upgrades for it cost 300/300 each. Terran: Cobras can attack air and ground. Vikings has low armor when in air-firm. Banshees can fire rapidly at ground units. Reaper are able to attach a timebomb at units or buildings every 30 seconds. A sign and a red bar show where the bomb is placed. The bomb is destroyable by the opponent. It is not decided yet if the Planetary Fortress could attack air too. Thor: His special ability is to perform an artillery strike, which uses his four cannons on his back to fire long-ranged projectiles. Nevertheless, he is helpless against air-strikes and he is very slow. He can be killed by a few Cobras because he turns slowly. Ghosts: In "sniper-mode" they can kill lonely soldiers or lesser Zerg units with a single hit. They can also call for an air-drop with 8 Marines. Blizzard still debates if the medic is implanted. Dustin Browder: "We have to test if they fit Starcraft II and don't mess up the balance."
