Splitting up the game into 3 parts, works wonders for their revenue.

One thing i found troublesome is that the game style and mechanics hasnt changed much after a decade. It feels more like tacking new graphics on it but not evolving the game mechanics any further. In this day of age, sticking to your guns and not being innovative may not be such a good idea since theres nothing new except the units.

Yeah, there isnt much changes in the majority parts of the game but small changes like the new vespen gas mechanics is going to change the way we play SC2.Besides,almost all the units have changed or at least have some sort of upgrades. It's gonna be a different game.Stil,it wont be ground breaking in innovations like CoH or DoW.It's more like comparing RA3 to RA2.Things are almost the same but the old tricks wont work in SC2 anymore.

Besides,SC2 is designed to be a competitive RTS.Too much innovations will spoil the game's competitive nature.

Do you see anyone reinvent football? If aint broke, dont fix it.

It just feels too much of the same thing. And having too much of the same thing is never good for you.

Not changing the gameplay for RA3 isnt that much of a prob since it was never meant to be strategy intensive game, more like an fun everyday RTS. Starcraft on the other hand is a more competitive styled game so having more options means more strategy in play which is what starcraft is all about.

DoW is a very nice game since strategy play quite a big part such as elevation, even area specific places have bonus and startegic value. I see none of it in SC2 which should be the mother of all RTS judging from its popularity. If not SC2 is just a dumb downed version of current RTS.

It only applys if you are a blizzard customer and have bought at least 1 game from them. If dont have, you cant enter for the beta test.

Like this cant get 2 play unless they open the beta to public rather then just to their existing customers.

I think i'll just wait for someone to hack the game so that non-blizzard customers can play it. Theres already talk of hacking sc2 beta for linux so doing it for windows wouldnt be a far reach.
