The graphics look kinda like low standard compare to today's games. So,i shouldn't expect to see ragdoll physics in SC2.Anyway,i care more about gameplay than graphics.

Also,please not DotA 2 in SC2.

Hopefully they wont make SC2 into DOTA.......

Actually, that's what im trying to say. They play CNC3 because their chances to win is higher. They cant play SC and WC which is older and have 10x more player base than any other games. SC and WC3 is very competitive. Every year we'll hear new pro coming to the scene. For those quite new in WC3,
"Long time ago before the age of sky and far bfore the reign of orc Emperor Grubby, a Human called Insomnia rule this world".
Ok enough joke, what im trying to say is dont compare the competitive WC3 scene with Malaysian WC3 scene where Paulyan won wcg 5 yr straight.

There's player called kenshin.WERRA who quits WC3 and play SC because he wants challenge. This is true GOSU. rclxms.gif

Why SC gosus are different from other games gosus?
First, all 10++ members of 7++ teams in starleague are professional. What i mean by professional is they play for food. They play 10++ hours per day to achieve perfection(a genius cant excecute his strat  without skill). They dont win they dont eat. They gave up other responsibilities in their life(time, college) to become a professional gamer.

Ok, that's for those who play in Starleague. But these days there are new rule which says you cant compete in Starleague if you're not a progamer. So now progamer is a given title. So even if they play for food they're still not progamer without recognition and Starleague is a no. In korea there are lots of these progamer without recognition. rclxub.gif Ppl said to qualify in Korean WCG qualifier is harder than winning WCG grand final itself.

Let say Dawn of War for example, how many top 30 ladder player are progamer?I think most of them are hardcore player that plays for fun and happens to be good at it.

Thats why i said other RTS besides SC and WC3 dont have any gosu. They cant set a standard for their game like SC and WC3 pro did. In my opinion its not blizzard that made SC such a perfect game. Its the gosus that create the balance. Blizzard just implement it with every patch.
TBH im not so sure wether most of those koreans will go SC2 or they will remain with  SC. SC2 can become the next CS:source you know.

I beg to differ on your ideas of why SC and WC3 are the only games that have pro-gamers.......it dont mean that a game with a less fan base dont necessarily have pro gamers.......if you would to take your best gamer in SC and pit it with a pro-gamer from DOW, the SC pro-gamer will definately lose...he may be able to provide some kind of battle but wouldnt be enough to outbeat the pro in DOW.

Each game, which comprises of more than 100 gamers worldwide on its ladder is bound to have a game dedicated to that game perfecting the fighting style of that game.........

i believe your scale of judgement on that SC and WC3 are the ones that have excellent pro-gamers is wrong......each game has its pro's but they may not been represented as well as SC and WC3. thats all.

Every person given the opportunity will rise........same goes to games.......if the fan base to the other games are as big as SC and WC3, then you wouldnt be able to say the difference........

Lets hope SC2 holds up to the expectations of its fans and not give false hope like C&C3 did to some of its fans......

Dawn of War has them, C&C has had them for ages (You think Tanya comes of a conveyor belt?). Don't write off the concept just because one company screwed up the implementation.

I hope you didnt mean DOW cause the hero implementation in DOW was good and didnt alter the gameplay of the game but rather enhance it.........heroes function the way they should in DOW..........wont continue this here cause this thread is meant for SC2..........just out of curiosity.....could i know which company are you talking about.....

The main thing is they shouldn't have make the heroes much stronger than the normal units.Active or Passive spells doesn't matter much if the heroes arent overpower in the first place.
*
i agree......i think there shouldnt be any heroes in SC2 as SC has always been about the army and not about heroes appearing in every battle........the reason why DOW heroes are so successful is because the battles were always land battles and heroes always played a support role......

however SC2 always been about engaging large armies lead by the player. there is no need for heroes to be around just for cameo sake or for bragging rights........SC2 should not have any heroes.......if they want to make it good........let them do it in the gameplay and give a game that is as good looking and great playing as DOW or COH.......

Make great gameplay than adding heroes for popularity sake......

QUOTE(SeaGates @ May 20 2007, 01:49 PM)
Active spells that attacks unit is what make Heroes in WC3 that powerful. Not to mention how much element in WC3 is focused on Heroes. Even the upkeep system in WC3 is indirectly forcing player to use heroes as massing units become inefficient.

What I mean is they should only make heroes act as 'catalyst' in a fleet. Heroes can't go alone fighting, and a strong army can't be efficient without a hero nearby. They plays a big role in skirmishes but only if they're backed up by a properly managed fleet.
*
Still it takes balance....if that was forsaken like WC3 then its worthless.....besides the reason why there was heroes in the first place for warcraft 3 is because the stories in warcraft 3 ever since the first installment was about heroes and how they lead their armies......it was inevitable that heroes will make an appearance in warcraft 3........
