QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Apr 16 2008, 11:00 AM) Good rant Pro this and pro that... without gameplays that beginners can learn to adapt easily, the market for SC2 would be small. Blizzard needs to create games for everyone, not just the pros. Not every one has the time to learn to press hotkeys as fast as lightning, or micro 100 units at one time; there are more casual gamers at the end of the day. Dota... don't associate emo teenagers with it. Emo people write dark music and dress gothic, not play games Joking. Spot on! If games are only good if their players slice off insane amount of time to 'train', they'll turn into just about any other 'grind-fest' *cough*mm0*cough*. My best memories of SC1 will always be the engaging story, soundtrack and unit behaviors. Balanced yet friendly. For SC2, amidst all the mess after broodwar, I cant wait to find out how the finale will turn out to be... (another sequel? arghhh)

QUOTE(RtP|DEV @ Apr 16 2008, 11:39 PM) You compare Starcraft with grindfest? I'm speechless. To each, his own, right? If you check out what the local cc loungers do to 'abuse' sc here, you'll find out what a turnoff it'll be. EDIT: Ive actually followed up on Games Workshop news back in the wee days, and I agree that SC does share a lot of similarities with the Warhammer 40,000 universe. In fact, it shouldn't be surprising as most game designers and artists look to other great, existing, titles and work for inspiration on their own. For them to have garnered ideas from such sources, but not to the extent of blatantly copying entire designs, I applaud Blizzard for coming out with such an impressive and resilient title. On it being 'the' trendsetter for the rts genre... I would say its one of a few. This post has been edited by Enigma_Angel: Apr 17 2008, 11:47 AM

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Apr 17 2008, 03:19 PM) SC1 did that very well, especially with the 3 unique races part but SC2,i dont think it even being a trend setter. Sorry, my whole edit was a take on SC1.

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Apr 24 2008, 07:43 AM) Nah,only SC2 has the colourful cartoon like graphics. Most of the current games has serious look.Empire Total War,Dawn of War 2,World in Conflict and others all have the serious look. What about Settlers? What a horrible game, but the peeps are funny Sorry for veering so far. Settlers is more Caesar than RTS, but SC2 can't go lower than that. ...right?
