Hi all sifu, I am requiring a video editing software for my part time job.
Requirement:
Basic video editing function
Audio adjustment for video
Some graphic editing

Is there any free license software that you all can recommend me? Prefer something more than Window Movie Maker and not heavy as Premiere Pro or After Effect.

Free stuff tend to be quite limited.
If premier pro is too difficult, you can try Sony Vegas.
It’s easier but it’s still not free.

Hi, alright. thank you very much for your help.
Premiere Pro is a bit heavy for my pc now, especially during render. sweat.gif

The most efficient video editing software is FCPX.
But that’s Mac only unfortunately.
Even with an under spec pc, FCPX can handle high bit rape clips or even 4k. Something Premiere pro might crash during rendering.

Davinci Resolve has a free version. As long as you don't use the video effect you are good to go. But it dosent support old video format like AVI. As powerfull as Premiere CC.

No time limit, only restriction on some advance feature. As a beginner.. you might not use those feature anyway.

I'm using custom keyboard shortcut to map premiere. So it is comparable to premiere.

Editing is straight forward. You don't need to give name to the project and timeline. Edit and export the video without the need to save into project file. Like photoshop save picture to JPG without the need to save as PSD. This way, no garbage file or folder generated like premiere do.

What I like the most is the ability to export the clip into individual video from the timeline. This is time and space saver. Imagine when you shoot an event. All the bloopers, camera shake or over expose clip are ingest into your HD together with the good take. In Resolve you can edit and remove all those unwanted cene and export it individually in one command. What you have now is short and clean footage.

i really recommend learning adobe premier pro if it's really for your long term use.

it's definitely a huge learning curve even for the slightest of change required, but once it's second nature, you will never believe why people use other editors.
