If I currently have 1 year working experience as a Mechanical engineer and intending to get to banking, what sort of preparation should I do? Will it be easy to find a job in the banks?

Maybe something like risk management may have a chance. Just make sure you know the basics and have decent technical knowledge. Other possibility is IT development.
