Hello sifus,

I'm staying in a condo belongs to my relative and I'm planning to rent out one small room (no aircon) and one medium room (with aircon) out. While myself will be occupying the master bedroom (with aircon).

My current utilities monthly as up to date staying alone:
Unifi - RM149
TNB - around RM60+ to RM70+
Water - RM12

As this is the first time for me to rent out room, may I know what is the best and fair kind of calculation on monthly utilities bill between tenants and myself?

Please advise. icon_question.gif

TQ!

Unifi and Water = divide by how many person in the house

TNB also same..but you might want to ask the medium room renter to add RM50 or any amount bcs of aircon usage..

Basically you and the medium room pay more for TNB..

yea.. Unifi and Water I know can divide equally

but when it comes to TNB, really headache as some might argue I dont use aircond la, I seldom on aircond la etc..

really looking forward to the best solution for a fair split on tnb bill

Normally those doing room rental, internet, TNB and water already included in the rental rate. But of course no aircon. Some stingy owner even no water heater is installed to make sure the electric bill is low.

Those rooms with aircon will install a sub meter to read the aircon usage.
Fair and square.

i heard of the so called sub meter thingy. but ayam trying to see if have any alternatives or not

although i'm the decision maker aka landlord, I'm not that stingy and kira so much type one la biggrin.gif

on the other hand, why i chose to split equal bills instead of including it in rental, ayam just worried if the tenant tekan minyak blast aircond 24/7 then I toyota hailat liao..
