Stock android might not satisfy all and there is also custom UI as fluid as stock android (e.g meizu flyme)

I have personally get in touch with that phone and I gotta tell you, damn worth that price!

Stock android
18:9 screen, vibrant enough with this price range
Camera better than Mi A1, cheaper
Snapdragon 636

Too bad I'm not able to purchase it yet, the unit I handled is a review unit, build quality not bad for that price.

I'd definitely buy it as a secondary phone and give my Mi A1 away.

Dont forget its not an A1 device. Only UI is stock android. Your Mi A1 still gets updates at lighting speed.

Mi gonna release A2 also soon. They might even retaliate by lowering the price of their RN5.

Anyhow, RN5 has better camera and Quick Charge 2.0.

So it's a matter of what you need

5k battery or better camera.

Pure android or MIUI.

Xiaomi or Asus.

My personal opinion is, this phone is really good value for money and would have been a no-brainer for me to get one except for the fact that it does not come with dual band wifi.

and yes i know u can survive on single band wifi

you need to buy quick charge charger separately...

Not sure but Asus dub it as Flash Charge

Full charge is less 3 hours compared to RN5 pro

according to their website anyway

Don't have.

Though the chipset Snapdragon 636 supports QC 2.0, but I think to reduce cost even more they didn't activate it.

RN5 with same chipset has QC 2.0 enabled.

But Asus claims (and also based on YouTube videos) their battery take around 2 hours plus to charge full.
