Hi people. I am new to this cardgame Vanguard (VG). Previously was just an average player on MTG and Pokemon. With the recent new format I hope this card game does not disappoint me as previously the older format (Premium) was kinda havoc for me to learn until I give up. So basically this thread is for those who're new like me or the regular players that's already been playing for long time. So before I discuss more of what I'd heard about how bad is Bushiroad making this TCG so let's just briefly go through with this new format from the following links.

Trial Deck V-TD01/02

Booster Box V-BT01

The new anime that's running in Japan for the new rerun has already been started as well in May. As for me I also at first have a doubt on which language that I wanted to choose to play. In the end I picked the Japanese one. Reason? No particular. Just we have access to earlier cards that's it. At the moment I can't tell/say much about this cardgame as I myself haven't understand the mechanics and reason why people saying that it is one of the unbalance card game. The link at the bottom explains a little about the new standard format. Check out the rules as well at the link provided.

New Regulation at June 2018

Rules Update at June 2018

So technically Bushiroad wanted to make the new standard format as the more approachable TCG for some new player like us hence the lesser wording/effect on the cards itself. New mechanics has been introduce. If you look at their timeline they're trying to eliminate the G-format and retain the older cards for Premium format (just like Modern in MTG/Expanded in Pokemon) and the brand new format for standard. Rotation wise I am not sure atm as I never heard there is a rotation for VG, only some banned cards iirc.

Back to the card. So I have purchase the Trial Deck (TD) itself to learn the format and these are the one that comes with it when you purchase the Japanese one. According to my friend usually Japanese TD tends to give freebies (of course the price is abit steeper) compared to the English counterpart. The info of the TD cardlist can be found on their official website.

So after I opened it and to realized there is some foil card which is only exclusive to TD. Not sure how much it can worth as I am not sure which website that we can crosscheck for the Japanese card (will try to find out soon). According to my friend as well they make the TD deck become more new player friendly and if you played any card game before the cardlist in the TD deck are quite consistent. Most of the card they provided are come with playset. Of course is only a paper playmat and such. So nothing much to complaint atm.

That's all for me know. Once I know how to play please feel free to give your LYN ID and let me know so we can actually come out chit chat and duel for some round. Not looking into competitive atm, we'll see how it goes. Until then, Stand Up!! Vanguard!!
