Infact the M3 has this crazy good synergy with my recently acquired MS Zune. Thus paired, it does lose a smidgen of bass slam and exhibits this ever so slight mid/treble edginess (although only barely if noticeable at all), it gained a whole barrel of clarity and sparkle that keeps me enthralled. If Bill Gates (or whomever in charge of Zune marketing) ever hopes to kick Apple's Ipod's ass, all they have to do is to bundle the M3 with the Zune!

ya its was pretty fun learning, discovering and describing what is to me, something i have not much knowledge of. but its good learning process and though im not sure i wanna do more of this, its was fun.

re. trying ES7, as i stated go try or if adi have tested a M3, just picture a more refined M3 with deeper a bottom end and you've essentially described an ES7.
ya the iM716 is good though not without its faults. it can be a bright and fatiguing and my ears still walks kangkang! but when its good its good. LOL! that said, the M3 is far more fun and useful coz of its comfort and convienence. i've brought it to the gym

at the risk of sounding like an oldman lecturing, i'l give u the contextual meaning as relevent to what i wrote. youliang had the right idea as derived from wiki and other dictionaries but there's a slight variation to the actual meaning.

1."raison d'être" literally translated from french means "reason to be". here it means "reason or justification for being or existing".

2."pièces de ré.sis.tance" again directly translated from french means "piece of resistance". here i meant it as "the defining highlight thats makes it unique and special".

3."prima facia" directly translated from latin means "at first sight". used in the context of this review, it basically means "the statement is evident at first sight (or listen in this case) without needing further proof".

4."Quod Erat Demonstrandum" again directly translated from latin means "which was to be demonstrated". in this context, it basically means "i'v just demonstrated it to be true".

forgot to answer your question about comfort . the ES7 is very comfy realy. the headband is bendable to suit the width of your head so u can adjust it to allow the cups to rest lightly on the ears. also since its not heavy (unlike some grados! ) the pressure on the top of the head is light. i've had it on for a coupla hrs straight and its all good! the only nit i can pick is that its supra-aural (as in the earcups rests on instead of covering the ears). sometimes my ears can get abit irritated but i believe thats more pychological than physical. its best for you to find a pair to tryout but i cant help u there as i dont know which store carries it in KL (or M'sia for that matter). a coupla pls in silypore carries it though. goodluck bud

yup coobra is right ofcourse. IMO the 4 cans here are all top contenders in their respective classes. that said, IMO the ES7 and iM716 are technically superior and unsurprizingly so since they're both also priced the highest.

FWIW, the ES7 is rated 1 of the best closed over the ears portable headphones at headfi.org. as for the iM716, can i just say that i sold my senn HD600 coz of lack of usage since i learnt how to use the triflanges (despite the discomfort)?? u do the math

One of the reasons that i enjoy the ksc75 is its big soundstage and i could feel different music instruments playing around my ears from many directions.. hehe.. 

Which make me feel       and decided not to get myself a Koss KSC-75.

actually, the koss has the larger wider airy soundstage btwn the it and the M3 by virtue of it being an open fon and the M3 being closed. that said, i've never found ksc's soundstage to be a shortcoming-its one its strengths IMO.

u will definatly like the M3 if the koss bothers u. the M3 is less airy but has a meathier sound, bigger and deeper bass with a groovy fun presentation. except for classical (which i dont listen to), i've yet to find a genre that the M3 dont perform decently if not well.

another bonus for the M3 is that it also performs the best out of the 4 without an external amp (esp. for DAPs with weak mw output). i've the koss max out usually juz offa reg. headout but on the M3, 3/4 is already earsplitting loud. btw i listen LOUD (just ask brader PCWORK) . IMHO the M3 is definately for u if u dont like the koss .

What I was trying to say is that I feel like KSC-75 over emphasize on those instrument sound. The instrument sound is over emphasized compare to other sounds like vocal, some more it is a lot of different over emphasized instruments sound blended together with impact/slamming type bass to my ears; I just can't enjoy the songs. I prefer "soft"(not volume level kind of soft) and "deep" bass with well balance blended vocal and instrument; I prefer laid back and relaxing music instead of over emphasized instrument + impact/slamming type bass which is really making me feel .

I am not sure if the over emphasized instrument sound got anything to do with the soundstage. But all above is how I feel when I first test out the KSC-75. I am just sharing my opinion on it here. I am not a true audiophile, please don't flame me but enlighten me if I am wrong. Thanks.

in your case, i really recommend you go for Audio technica headphone. not cheapo one. at least somethings not bad. they are well produce in the mid range. and quite balance.
else go for AKG series. i have the same taste as i love "soft" and relaxing sound from my headphone. too high impact make me feel annoying. such as Grado, so grado is a no no for me.
i understood that. ever since you love the feeling of IM716 rape your ear... then i will expect you seal urself off from the outter world..

well i only listened very briefly plus a mamak isnt the greatest enviroment for listening to an open fon like the ksc75. but i could adi tell the bass is much better controlled. give me a week or 2 with it and i'll do old ksc75 vs new ksc75 vs iM716 (my current reference) comparo. hint:i think brader PCWORK mite get realy busy soon
