Hi all sifus, is anyone here using NU8000 or samsung 2018 4k tv that pairs with Denon AVR? I'm planning to buy NU8000 after recommended by Convael and internet reviews..however, i read that there are issues with Denon receivers particularly on 4k HDR signals due to EDID issues...im using Denon x2300w currently, im afraid it will have issues with 4k HDR signals sad.gif NU8000 really checks all the boxes for me

Actually samsung 2018 4k tv  got hdmi handshake problem with any brand of AVR. Only Marantz & Denon will release firmware to solve these problem.  you try to check your latest firmware of denon got any fix of this issue or not.  The latest of samsung TV firmware just release at august 2018 also will help to fix this issue for some model of AVR. I also notice some user use the HDFURY Hdmi box between AVR & TV can solve the problem, but HDFURY is not cheap.

I see..i've gotten confirmation from a forumer in AVS forum via private message today that the 4K HDR signals are resolved. The forumer is using NU8000 with Denon x3200w while mine is x2300w, i guess it works the same.

I've double checked with the firmware changelog of my denon AVR that the ALLM and extended EDID has already patched around 6 June 2018. Not sure any Denon owners with 2018 samsung tv be able to confirm the HDMI handshake issue has been resolved. Hopefully everything is alright. Cuz my 4K HDR source will be from my HTPC (4k HDR support) to Denon AVR and then to TV. If direct plug into TV will sacrifice Dolby Atmos, true HD, etc...some may introduce audio delay as well.

May i know the owners you mentioned using HDFURY is also using Denon AVR?

HE is Yamaha av receiver user.  Yamaha is worse than Denon, yamaha cannot output any 10 bit signal to samsung TV.  Until now yamaha do not provide any firmware fix for this issue. Lucky, HdFURY can change the EDID setting to help him to solve this problem.  So you are lucky, because denon & marantz only the receiver will support ALLM for this time being .

I see..pheww, i thought Denon is not so good in updating their FW, i guess i was wrong biggrin.gif i just bought the 55inch NU8000 from Desa, to be delivered next week monday at night..cant wait for it..hopefully everything will be fine with my Denon receiver...next thing to worry is my HDMI 2.0 cables not able to deliver HDR content..i bought those cables (Choseal brand) from Taobao..it stated high speed and can achieve 18 Gbps bandwidth....used for 2 years for 4k SDR content @ 4k60p 8bit 4:4:4 color space (not 4k HDR), seems ok..

May i know what brand of HDMI 2.0 cable do you use for your 4k HDR content?

I see, thanks for your reply.

Do you guys turn on auto motion plus settings (i.e. de-blur and de-judder function)? or just select "custom" and set the de-blur and de-judder value to zero?

I find 24p content on the TV is abit juddery...set de-judder to 3 seems to help a bit biggrin.gif
