Hey Haruji Sora, where are you. You haven't given the feedback for the FW for the KS7000. We need you to test it out and give your feedback about the Game mode. The fw looks kind of suspicious with two versions listed together, so please be our guinea pig biggrin.gif

LOL.

Already installed it since Day 1 of release.

It's a legit release.

Game Mode HDR Profile switching is working.

HDR Performance has been improved on my set (KS7000), brighter highlights seems can hit higher nits compared to previously.

Overall it's a good update.

HDR10Plus (dynamic open source HDR) probably still missing, but the problem with the format is even Amazon Prime can't really tell which video supports HDR10+, so this technology seems to be a mixed bag for now until they sort out that mess.

I heard HLG is still broken with some box over in the west (HLG is Hybrid something something), it is supposed to be HDR standard for broadcaast TV.

thumbup.gif So it's all good now, at least for gaming biggrin.gif

Went to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on the brand spanking new Samsung Onyx Cinema Led. Not discussing the movie plot here but rather the experience with the Samsung Onyx cinema itself.

Video:
-screen size:
Not that big. If you want to watch in this cinema, i suggests not to seat in the midlle, go 2-3 level form the screen. Btw the seat are very comfy. Not the typical cinema seat.
-Sharpness :
The texts/subtitles are ultra sharp. the movie also ultra sharp.
-HDR:
I read it some where that this scren are HDR but I can't see much of it.is either the screen itself or the movie itself. I belived it is both are not much HDR.
-Peak Brightness level:
Not that bright. It doesnt gave me the glaring effect I got from my Sony X930e tv
-contrast level:
OK la
-black level:
Superb as each pixel can be turn of completely
-pixel density:
Sorry I didn't have the opportunity to shot it, but I do go to the screen closely viewed it. Damm it ways very dens. I'd say buot 2x2mm with gabsĀ  by 1mm in between the pixels.

Audio:
The Harmon tune speakers are great but It lack the sound form above form the like of Dolby ATMOS

Overall
I would like to see a bigger screen and ATMOS support. Also higher peak brightnes

So it' a bit of a letdown I guess. The screen size only slightly above 10m, from the pic the width looks about 12 seats wide. Maybe they reduced the brightness due to pitch black condition , some people's eyes might be too sensitive if too bright.

guys any of you paired bookshelf speaker to your tv? i cant get the smart remote to control the volume of the speaker. cheap but good edifier r1280db.

i wanted a soundbar but the good ones are too expensive to justify as a soundbar.
*
Bluetooth speakers? I think you have to control vol directly from the speakers control.

one more thing. can share 55nu7400 best/prefered picture settings?

i found myself tinkering with the setting too often. dayum cant made up my mind.

I am using KS7000 model, won't apply to you.

Anyway I just adjust what's best that suit my viewing experience. I never follow what's recommended on the internet, espc the experts.

What they recommend, I just follow the opposite. They recommend to use movie mode, which I find horrible. If I wanted a picture that look yellowish, and constant micro juddering, I might as well buy an old worn out TV with yellowish colours biggrin.gif

What I saw in the showroom is what attracted me to buy my TV in the first place, the bright picture and beautiful saturated colours.

So I adjust it according to what I saw in the showroom, dynamic mode , smooth motion flow and all (so what if they call it soap opera effect) , I like it very much. If my eyes see things in real life moving smoothly, why shouldnt I adjust my TV to be super smooth, just because the experts say it's not natural.

Who are they to tell me what I like smile.gif

New one about rm160-180. Standard universal one about 40/- but the keys too many and not easy to press.

meaning, the standard one can be fully funtional at ks7000? have u tried? tq
*
You can borrow the remote from another Samsung model and try.

But I bought a China type from Denki Best (that's some time back) which is compatible with a few models. Cost me rm30-40.

If you buy from the internet it will be around rm 20/- only.

You can look at my actual pic for reference.

i just tried today, borrow from my neighbor, works well except volume button. cannot adjust volume from soundbar directly from remote, need to use samsung apps or soundbar remote. neightbor's remote is original from samsung, exaxtly like yours ngto but diff brand. i connect soundbar to tv using digital out. any other solution. nway, what tv do u use ngto? tq.
*
Same as you , KS7000. No problem with adjusting the volume of the tv.

This remote is for tv, no guarantee it is compatible with soundbar.

If your tv is using digital out, the analogue volume of your tv cannot be adjusted. You want to adjust volume of tv, you must select sound output to tv speakers.

hmm.. because peviosly the smart remote able to adjust the volume of soundbar while using it on tv... thinking of buying new smart remote or repair it. it's a hassle to use soundbar remote to adjjst the volume. nway, is your tv able to enable Cal night/day via service menu? i watch in youtube quantum apoptheosis.
*
If you don't mind paying for the smart remote, that's the best option.

Way back when I first bought the tv, I could activate the service menu for cal 1/2 with the China remote, but didn't use it. Now I don't know if Calibration option can still be activated with subsequent fw.

You have to Google for the keystroke combo to access the menu to enable Cal day/night. I can't remember the sequence.

Be careful, there are a lot of stuff inside that can be changed accidently.

My so called smart remote for Samsung KS7000 started malfunctioning the first year itself. The crucial direction buttons no longer respond. When I asked how much it cost to buy a new one, Samsung repair agent quoted me around 200/-.

That's how they eat your money.

So I just bought one of those 40/- cheap compatible remote (just basic functions) and be done with it.
