Dead Thread revived  smile.gif

Hey Haruji Sora, where are you. You haven't given the feedback for the FW for the KS7000. We need you to test it out and give your feedback about the Game mode. The fw looks kind of suspicious with two versions listed together, so please be our guinea pig  biggrin.gif

LOL.

Already installed it since Day 1 of release.

It's a legit release.

Game Mode HDR Profile switching is working.

HDR Performance has been improved on my set (KS7000), brighter highlights seems can hit higher nits compared to previously.

Overall it's a good update.

HDR10Plus (dynamic open source HDR) probably still missing, but the problem with the format is even Amazon Prime can't really tell which video supports HDR10+, so this technology seems to be a mixed bag for now until they sort out that mess.

I heard HLG is still broken with some box over in the west (HLG is Hybrid something something), it is supposed to be HDR standard for broadcaast TV.

Anyways.

Outside than 2016 TV set firmware update.

2018 Samsung TV range is finally out.

Seems like they might have dropped the 6xxx model numbering in Asia Pacific / UK and finally standardize the TV Model across the globe.

KU6100 = KU7000 (2016 TV Asia VS US)
MU6100 = MU7000 (2017 TV Asia VS US)
NU7100 = NU7100 (2018 TV Asia VS US)

I seen NU7100 selling for roughly the same price with MU6300 now.

QLED offering has also been refreshed for 2018 range, even though they retain the model (Q7F is refreshed to Q7FN)

One Connect Box has moved to be exclusive for the QLED line now.

And the mid entry/high end TV stand has been revamped for Samsung TV 2018 offering.

No MicroLED TV out yet, possibility need to wait for 2019.

Seen Samsung UA58NU7103 seeling for less than RM3,100. Worth it for a non-premium one?
So for 2018, series will start from 7? No wonder couldnt find 6100 series for 2018 model

Technically on paper it is still the same TV Panel spec wise with their 2017 counterparts NU7xxx = MU6xxx.

I probably say just grab w/e that's the cheapest now.

It is a decent Entry Level TV.

That's cheap.  I got my new unit at RM5,688 in East Malaysia about 3 weeks ago.

Hard to find new unit, now suddenly got so many new units?

Guys,

Is MU 6 series do not have HDR+?

Btw i wan to buy a 55".
Saw online 55MU6300 RM2800, 55NU7100 RM3050, 55NU7300 RM3500

Is now a good time to buy 55MU6300?
I read from rting.com, saying NU is a downgrade from MU, just that they updated some features like HDR+
*
If you're talking about the Samsung/Amazon/etc Open Source Dynamic HDR , HDR10+ then MU set has already been updated to support it around early 2018.

Only problem is, there is no platform that is delivering it correctly (as in telling you the video is Standard HDR or HDR10Plus). Even Amazon has some titles but there is no proper labeling on it.

Those is just edge-lit LCD TV, don't expect have any good HDR effect.

If want to have good HDR effect, you should look for QLED or OLED.

Only Q8 (2018) model and above has Full Array Local Dimming. Even the QLED Q7C is still Edge Lit.

any advice in NU7 series (2018) as their previous NU6xxx series is so so only ...
*
NU7xxx is roughly identical in terms of spec with MU6xxx. I dont think there is a NU6xxx anymore since this year I think Samsung is syncing their Model numbering across the globe.

which one you will select?

65mu7000 or 55q7f

price difference RM 600??

You cannot just choose between the 2 as both has different screen size.

It depends on your usage and seating arrangement.

If you sit far, you probably need 65 inch.

If the seats are not so far away, then 55 inch would be good.

Anyways if you talking about pure performance and picture clarity (plus HDR performance and colors and etc) then defo Q7F is a no brainer
