Nope . Not at this moment at least , things may change if Q70R suddenly become the hottest selling model in MY but I really doubt it with that price tag.

A weebit of correction here : Samsung has renamed the Q70R to Q75R in our country .

Anybody took the 49" Q60R RM2999 offer? RTINGS stated poor HDR performance but youtube review indicate brighter than Q75R. Kind of confusing.
Kind of interested to buy either as PC monitor. the price diff between these 2 models are huge though RM2999 vs RM7999, so prefer if may grab Q60R.
Opinions?

Youtube review , that's where the problem is .

And I assume you are talking about ABT electronics , they are an electronic shop .
You can hardly call those reviews , more like unboxing previews . The sales pitch should be obvious by now , they want to sell you those TVs.

Real TV reviewers are hard to come by thesedays as they find themselves in very difficult position .
When you say not so good things about the TV , the PR of the brands don't take them nicely .

As a result you end up getting boycott from their event , they will never send you anymore TV to play around .
Either that or they send you cherry picked unit to garner positive reviews while actual product being far less competent , Samsung is particularly guilty of this .

Not at the default MSRP ( 4999 ).

There are a lot of compromises behind the 2999 promotional price tag .
Looking at how many features they have removed , the Q60R is not so much different than NU7400 which can be found at cheaper price now.

Not saying the TV is bad per se , it just means the 49" Q60R is not the affordable , dreamy, full-featured QLED TV we thought it was .

No local dimming ( which explains the mediocre brightness rating ) , no Freesync/VRR support , No 120 hz native refresh ( Not to be confused with 100 motion rate listed on Samsung's website )
Good thing is this TV probably has the best color volume out of the bunch of TV in this price range thanks to the quantum dots filter , so you still get something out of the QLED line up.

What about it at 2999? Seems like the NU8000 is going for about 500 more or so, as the newer model is coming out

You definitely get more bangs for your money on NU8000 , too many features have been removed on the 49" Q60R.

NU8000 is poor in HDR right? Maybe time to pick 2018 model bargains. Eyeing Q8C or 7FN. the 2019 models are way over priced.
Or maybe even go LG OLED cheaper than samsung mid range QLED.

Bought it. While checking out the store (Best Denki), they also have the new Q75R on sale already for RM7K (vs RM7999 MSRP where most shop sells).
Compared them side by side a few movies couldnt tell much of a difference. The 7FN is definitely brighter.

Brighter , more colorful to say the least .

Something is off with the Q60R and Q75R this year , even the anti-reflection they used are the semi-gloss one . ( Q7FN uses the full glossy coating which is more expensive and better at fighting off glares)

I have expected more from Samsung especially when these babies have a default price tag of RM5000 ~ RM7000.

There is literally no reason to upgrade to the Q60R / Q75R over the Q6FN / Q7FN .
