Just wanna share my experience.. i just installed some fuel saving thingy to my 1.3l getz which includes, 2x microcompressors + voltage stabilizer + magnet thingy.. even tho i'm not a believer when it comes to that magnet thingy.. (since i saw an episode of mythbusters saying that the magnet is nothing but crap), to my suprise, this combination gave me quite good FC. the latest i got is:

RM68.20 for 406.5KM
That's RM1 for every 5.96KM or RM10=59.6KM
Petrol im using is shell super
Driving condition is normal, i'm a heavy footer btw.. 60% highway, 40% roadway. Pretty good eh?

i part with RM350 only to get those items incl installation. hope i'll get return profits in no time.. hehe..

4got to mention.. before, it was RM1 = 5.3KM (similar driving condition as mentioned).. oh ya, i oso change the spark plug to bosch super 4 platinum, using castrol 10w 40 magnatec.

RM1 for 5.7KM w/out those magnet/compressors stuffs is pretty good for ur ride.
BTW, urs are 1.4 version rite? manual or auto? if 1.4 i think u can do better mileage..so i heard la..

Thinking of changing the air filter as well.. maybe k&n drop in or better still, open pod one. heard some getzers mention it can saves fuel as well.. anybody knows where to find the k&n open pod filter for getz?

is it possible to get the K&N filters (drop-in or open pod) at Hyundai SC? last time i serviced my getz at kajang (plusone) branch, i ask them not to change the air filter cos i wanna find and buy that myself.. but unfortunately, none of the car acessories shop that i went to, sell drop-in nor even open pod filter which can fit getz. a shop even try to install open-pod filter to my getz(not K&N of cos..just a clone one) but after bout an hour, they surrendered.. hehe.. so now, i'm still running on the old stndard filter..

i know that a fellow lyn forumer do sell K&N drop in filter for most vehicles, but still thinking of trying the open-pod one (57i international intake kits) if its easily available, and of cos.. if its not way off my budget..

yup.. as mentioned, before installation, it was RM10 for 53KM, after installation, RM10 for 59KM. similar driving condition..

hopefully the number gets better after i've installed the KN filter..

i got mine from Savecost alor setar.. i dont know if penang got one, but for sure there is one at sg petani which i think shud be closer to u.
they sell it in package of RM329 which includes : 1 original microcompressor (which uses Karamjit Singh as the model ), 1 max voltage stabilizer with led indicator and 1 magnet thingy..

yup.. second to that. everytime i went to service my car, they keep on insisting me to change this and that (eg : spark plug@every 5000km, air filter @15000km..) which i dont think necessary since it's not in the manual.. anyway, after few times of servicing, i started to buy the engine oil by myself and found out i can save ~RM10 by doing that.. haha.. but then again, the service there is prety good (so far la..) hehe..

too bad for getzclub.com tho..that forum is actualy very informative and lots of members ady registered..its already in its "mature" stage..but went down so sudden.. sigh.. so where do the members hang out now, i mean, are there any new forums? i heard there's one new forum for getz owners which we can only joined by invitation only.. but forgot the web address ady..

what did u change for 25000km service?

just fyi, u can save up to RM10 per service if u buy the engine oil/atf/spare parts urself.. just let the SC change the parts for u, so leaving u with only the labor charge.
