I think they did. And they still think its ok to sell alcohol
They believe theres market for it

And its not wrong
Its not illegal
Nor is it against islamic rule

Why the need to raid the store?
*
yeah totally wrong with the raid and I'm not supporting it.

if they did the research, i think it's just poor decision making by them.

by reading thru in this thread, got 7e nearby that don't sell the alcohol.
In comparison, 7e did the research on product market fit in those area by not selling the alcohol to the community.

how big is the market until to trigger the locals after all?

in future, just be sensible with the locals.

not all are good muslims to begin with. There's always monkeys around to make fuss.

And be a good responsible company. That's all.

Please respect the local sentiments, if that kampung majority are muslim, i dont see any issues to ban the alcohol.

Same as taman melati kuala lumpur very near to LRT terminal putra here, the 7e oso dont serve alcohol eventhou at first they sell em.

After locals makes huha abt it, they respect the wishes of the local community to not sell alcohol in taman melati. Which is the majority are muslims reside here.

KK mart have separate fridge that has big whole glass sticker on it. I think this way much better. So idiots like this no excuse to kacau.

Basically their complaint is having the beer in same fridge as the non alcoholic drinks. So its either this speed mart not so SMart or those penungang agama starting their shit hole behaviour again.

This really shows that extremism is still going well and alive in malaysia

And funny how proud defend this
"99% malay muslim population wor. Why sell beer?"

No. If u Muslims
Why the hell do u wanna buy beer?

No self agency? No self control? No brain to think?
These people action insinuate that we muslim cant differentiate whats haram and whats halal

Its insulting.

Its the shop right and prerogative to sell whatever they want, inclusive beer

The onus is on muslim to not buy them.

The teaching isnt "go confiscated every haram stuff available in the whole world"

The teaching is "dont consume haram stuff"

Its ur personal responsibility
Apa hal pulak serbu kedai

Whats next? Serbu kandang babi?

This is ridiculous

Speedmart 99 is a licensed business or not ?
Are they licensed to sell liquor or not ?

If yes to both questions, on whose authority does these people are empowered to take action ?

+1. I don't see any chinese or indian raid any restaurant serving beef or halal food in chinese/indian majority area. I'm chinese and not allow to eat beef, and yet i always go to eat tom yam in Malay restaurant that selling beef on its menu. My SIRIM auditor which is a Malay, eat at non halal restaurant that sell alchohol drink but no pork, and that restaurant is famous with its seafood, and lots of Malays eat there.
*
Exactly this
If use "majority dont eat this, keluar now" mentality

Like i said. Maybe they decided to sell it anyway
7e didn't sell
So they dont have any competition

Being the only store selling alcohol might be profitable

Again. Its not wrong
Its not illegal

Poor business decision? Maybe
We wont know now
Because the alcohol already removed

Cannot check monthly sale how
Alot or not

i see , so its okay for the majority to bully the weak ? means u have no issue with the Rohingya being massacared by the Myannmar government? coz the majority sentiment is that they don't want them there..
or maybe in Switzerland, they don't want mosque minarets, coz local sentiment is against Islam ..

I like their logic. I'd like to propose removing all nasi lemak stalls that operate by the roadside. Why? Because their customers love to obstruct traffic and park haphazardly just to get their food. I know it's not the operator's fault but some of their customers lack courtesy and common sense so it's only right that the former is punished.

No nasi lemak stall, no traffic obstruction.

Manjoi or Gugusan Manjoi is a satellite town in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, known as the most largest and populous Malay neighborhood in Ipoh, second to the renowned Kampung Baru at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the nation's capital. It is known as Gugusan Manjoi in Malay due to its dense concentration in the state capital, Ipoh. Manjoi has a mosque and many feasible facilities for its residents. It is a combination of villages which was turned into a large neighborhood. This neighborhood is under the administration of Mukim Hulu Kinta of Kinta District.

MCA: Uphold non-Muslim retailers' right to sell alcohol

PETALING JAYA: MCA has called for the rights of non-Muslim retailers to sell alcohol to be protected after an NGO forced a convenience store in Perak to get rid of their alcohol stock.

Following the incident, Perak Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu reminded the NGO not to act on their own and instead lodge a report to the authorities, a move MCA said was "timely".

However, MCA said Ahmad Faizal's next advice for retailers operating in Malay villages to be "more sensitive to the feeling of locals" was legally incorrect.

"There are no laws prohibiting sales of bottled or canned alcoholic drinks except for the restrictions under the Excise Act," said MCA publicity spokesman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

Perak cops probe group over anti-booze ‘raid’ on store (VIDEO)

IPOH, May 28 ― Police are investigating a group of men purportedly from non-governmental organisations who “raided” a Speedmart 99 convenience store for selling alcohol last Thursday.

State Criminal Investigation Chief Yahya Abd Rahman said that they received three reports from store workers on the incident.

“We have open the investigation paper under the Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing and have called all the parties who are involved in this incident to assist in the investigation,” he said.

“The investigation paper will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor soon,” said Yahya.

On Thursday, the group including Manjoi residents “raided” the convenience store and directed the workers to stop selling alcohol and to transfer remaining stock in the storeroom.

The group ordered store workers to stop selling alcohol here as most residents were Muslim, and warned them of reprisals if they did not comply.

An 11-minute video of the raid was shared on social media.
