tats because no use of S41 for now ..the onli thing we can discuss is the price and where to get ..lol
*
But it appears that there's only one seller lurking around and it looks more like a sales thread to me.

IMHO, there's nothing much to discuss about the price. The RRP is RM3999 and that's about it. What else, the CC charges? doh.gif

Admin said he is taking orders in this thread ..lol ..no worries he gonna be 'unbanned' on friday ..

And you implied that I was wrong in pointing out that this thread has turned into a sales thread? I mean, asking questions about how to buy? Seriously, these things are sales questions.

Previously you pointed out that John is just giving advise and not begging people to buy. It's people's choice whether they wish to buy from John or not. And once in a while he encourage people to buy. Well, I've been to so many shops everywhere and never seen anyone begging to ask me buy from them, yes, because they are sellers they encourage me to buy, and those places are called shops. This place is not a shopping complex, nor is it a shop where you purchase stuff. To do that, there's the Sales Section.

Clearly that with the banning, he was taking orders here, that somewhat turn it into a sales thread.

lol ..i am also not picking a fight here too... i only hope you guys understand that he had already learn his lesson and that is it ..there is no need to keep mentioning that he is selling things here and there .. the first time i knew John_jay2 ..he had already stated he works as a notebook seller and i guess it is his work that made him like to promote himself. But he never forced anyone, so if any forummer can either take it or think at it as spam...

lol ..since you are also knoe some forummers never change ..they dun read the first post ...we can see that in many threads where the first post had tons of info on that particular lappy plus where to dl the drivers and pricing ..forummers would still ask the same questions again and again lol .. what to do, if i free then i also try to answer lo hehe ... so i view john_jay2 also as a frendly and helpful person when try to answer any enquires although he sometimes do really promote himself lol .. smile.gif

hey anyone of you seen the lappy S41 first hand? since LowYat.net had already posted it rite..
Sure, I know he's a seller, there are a few sellers around here as well. It's perfectly fine for him to post stuff regarding how the thing works, where to buy, and stuff like that, perfectly fine, nobody is going to refute that.

It's the part of encouraging people to buy that is wrong IMHO. You said we can all regard it as being spamming, but that is stepping into the line of starting the sales thread. By promoting himself, he can be regarded as trying to sell stuff. Piece of advise, tell this to John, stop promoting himself, stop encouraging people to buy etc. etc, anything other than that, I doubt he's going to get into trouble.

And that's my say about this topic, I rest my case.

To avoid OT, there are benchmarks of the Zepto with a 8600M GT outhere, but yeah, the BenQ is using a 8600M GS so the performance, as I read from various sources, says it's going to be a little bit better than the x1700/7700.

As to the BenQ CS, I don't know how far as they progressed. Back in the end of 2006 2005, my friend bought a BenQ laptop, had a problem with it, bring the thing all over Lowyat Plaza asking for someone to fix it, and everyone refused. Hopefully this kind of thing can be avoided with that service center in LYP.

ok.. but the thing is... if u manage to find those branded notebook with similar spec as S41 but below 4000K. brows.gif

sumsung... i set up a RM7500 laptop before but directly got hardware problem... after warranty and sent it to customer... customer kept complaining... say not worth it and a lot of problems... super lousy spec but "special" design... till no touch pad sweat.gif . i said to myself :" what a stupid customer"

Toshiba... my friend buy a RM5700 laptop.. but just a few months.. death pixel, light leakage.. and everything comes out.. so go to warranty.. but they changed him an normal lcd screen......  shakehead.gif

so i promised to myself not to look at the "brand" but "spec" and "value". as long as a brand doesn't have too lousy reputation. then let's give it a try.  thumbup.gif

What do you mean by "normal" LCD screen? Do you mean a matte screen. If that is the case, get it replaced with the glossy one, Toshiba is short changing your friend if your friend gets a matte screen.

I think this should be replacement for the DV9000 series which is a desktop replacement

Nope, the replacement for the dv9000t is the dv9500t with a 8600GS.

But that Dragon laptop looks really nice, should be in the class of the XPS M2010

Not that I want to crash the party or anything, but here it goes the Inspiron 1520 comes with 8600M GT 256MB DDR3. Honestly I don't wish to spoil your party, there's already a thread around here talking about it. Just that I wish to inform you there's gonna be competition from Dell. That's all

OEM license are for system builders only. And i read it somewhere that it's illegal for us to get it. But I do not wish to discuss further about the legality issue.

Hardware changes are normally allowed in terms of the RAM, HDD etc. But where it comes to motherboard, once you change it, windows will detect it as a computer change and you will not be able to activate it online. You'll have to do so through phone and state your reason. There's a limit on how many times you can "change" your computer IMHO.

I think this will help and googling on "oem windows copy" will enlighten you more.

Performance over price is definitely one of the best u can find beside Acer Gemstone 5920. No OS bundled, coz santa rosa platform + Geforce 8600 GS + 14"inch lcd it's impossible to bundle wif OS. Design is ok ok, u can read thru this thread and find some review by some of the users.  rclxms.gif

Sorry my England not so good, but why is it that it's impossible to include the OS with the S41?

my brother bought this s41 last week and played around with it.

here's my summary after 1 week experimenting

price :  thumbup.gif
design : ok ok  smile.gif
audio : sucks  sad.gif
gaming : so so  sad.gif
office productivity : ok ok  smile.gif
build quality : so so  sad.gif
overall user experience : unsatisfactory  mega_shok.gif
WIR ( will i recommend ) : nope

os used : xp pro and vista ultimate  - try both but experience system hang and keep restarting

just wanna share my experience with you guys....

I don't know in what way do you rate the laptop. But laptop audio surely won't be better for most laptops anyway
But according what you say, everything else is average apart from the audio and you are complaining that overall, unsatisfactory? Gaming, so so, you well duh, with the 8600M GS in there, it's not the best out there is it?

QUOTE(derred @ TODAY!!!!)
haha he was joking with that guy. Could be sarcastic too hmm i'll keep it with "joking".

Nah, I was being sarcastic. Because the way the poster said that how OS is "impossible" to be bundled due to Santa Rosa + 8600M GS. The sentence didn't made any sense to me. The way jeremy0 explained however, did make sense on the 4k pricing. But BenQ is no big fan of bundling OSes in their laptops anyways.

Methinks that guy is desperate to meet his sales target.
