For the moment, the S41 is very good value, especially for those who wanna play games on a 14.1" platform. My 1st gen machine is still running well, but I wish I could upgrade the 120GB hard disk without voiding the warranty. My RAM is alrdy at 4GB. The T7100 processor is good enough for me. Just need more space...
*
So u are running on Vista Ultimate since you have 4GB ?? or have 4GB but only utilize 3.5GB

wow....nowadays s41 have so many models adi... i oso dunno which one is which one haha... But for those who dunno which to get, c the proccessor. T7500 is the highest end for s41 (if i'm not mistaken), then is T7300. Both of them possess 4MB L2 Cache (though it has not much notable performance diff). For value wise, is T7250 which has only 2MB L2 Cache, performs better than T7100 since it's 200mhz higher. I think getting the T7250 is the most ideal one.

p/s: Try not to get those wif 667mhz FSB which available in T5xxx proc coz it's a lower end product compare to T7xxx series and has performance diff.

right now only got S41-425(T7250) which replace S41-409(T7100) and S41-E34(T7500) which replace S41-E06(T7300)

Ya, I'm running the 32-bit OS. In fact, I only get 3GB because 1GB is taken up by the graphics chip. It's running fine however; I do have a 4GB Sandisk Extreme III SD card in the flash card reader slot all the time for Readyboost. I do play games on this rig, so I'm ok with the 1GB taken up by the 8600GS.

Change your sound option to dolby surround, then you will no longer face the BSOD.^^

it's bcoz of the audio driver. To fix it, juz change ur sound setting in warcraft 3 to Dolby Surround. I encountered that problem b4 and now it's gone ^^

now Benq s41 is really affordable..wow rm34xx for a sub-gaming laptop..
not many other laptop brands have their laptop as cheap as this..too bad i urgently need this laptop at that time,
if not i can wait and save rm500 sweat.gif but at least i'm one of the first few owners of this model in lyn forum ^^

Vista uses flash drive as RAM if the flash drive support Ready Boost. I think the 4 GB sandisk memory card is for this. Extra RAM for your computer. But its not as fast as your system memory.

Hey i played dota in windowx XP as i change the sound settings to dolby surround and the game freeze more quickly. than the orginal sound blaster eax. But still hang. But i tried plying using vista the game is smooth.. anyone encounter this b4?

nvm lo if the problem really bother u then change other brand dvd rom at around Rm200... tongue.gif

For the readyboost vista having, it's helps when u have lack of ram but I think if ur ram is 2GB above shud be no significant diff blush.gif

hi all, interested in this laptop.
so far i heard bout the optical driver problem, is it anything else that annoyed u guys?
is the casing solid, coz i worry if after sometimes the casing will started to break off. like the joint for the screen, most of the laptops do break at there.

need your opinion.

Hey is this model aging? It seem like ppl are throwing free gifts and offers to sell this product. Maybe to get rid of stock and get ready for new generation of laptop. This model selling cheap.
*
well, penryn model maybe coming out next month... tongue.gif probably this is not the best time to get a new laptop... (unless you need it urgently)
