hi, i've just reinstalled windows xp home ori into my s41, but it cannot shutdown properly and always hang during the end...can anyone help?

perhaps u have some services cannot be killed. That's y it'll hang when u shut ur lappy down.

Thats what i thought too, but i kinda suspect its the Nvidia driver i installed

Added on January 15, 2008, 1:45 pmi finally discovered the problem, its the qeye driver which coz the problem....so i have to disable it...any solutions?

uninstall the Qeye thing. its not compatible with windows XP iirc. read a lot of comments about it.

Hey guys, I'm currently considering S41 and ACER ASPIRE 5920G-602G32. Which OS would be better on the S41? XP or Vista? How are the speakers? Is it worth it to fork out RM600 for the E34 over 425?

It can run and function, tried it with yahoo webcam...but disable it manually if u wanna shut down the notebook. Too bad benq didn't provide a solution to this problem

i once encountered this problem... and i get fed up so i just reformat it again...

everything is running fine with Qeye now ... did u try to update the windows ?

Added on January 15, 2008, 6:11 pmboth OS is good on the S41 .. But i recommend XP if you want the max performance of the laptop .. well everyone know Vista is a resource eater..

the speakers are decent .. but lose a bit if compare to altec lansing 1 on Hp laptop

I see, thanks. Any pros towards using Vista? How about 425 vs E34, worth the extra cost?

I just encounter an error while installing XP on the S41, the laptop freeze while restarting till I have to press and hold the Off/On button to shut it down, after that haven't encounter the problem so far.
Yeah, I agree that XP tends to have better performance than Vista on the S41 as I have tried both in two same specs of S41. Hopes future Vista updater will makes it perfoms better and better.
As for speakers which compares to an Altec Lansing HP, I found that the HP seems to have better bass quality and of course louder than S41 but just don't expect too much from a laptop speakers..if so, get an external speaker lor.

I think i not very clear explain abt the hotkey manager.
Hotkey Manager is not the Q-Hotkey Manager provided by the benq,is another s/w u can find out at internet.
U need to download and install do the setting hotkey urself...

both that u mentioned are in dvd rom bundled with ur baby when buying.

Change your sound option to dolby surround, then you will no longer face the BSOD.^^

Hey just bought a LINUX OS Benq S41 today.. think Aone plus got promotion on ground floor of Low Yat. RM3499 with free gifts..

it's bcoz of the audio driver. To fix it, juz change ur sound setting in warcraft 3 to Dolby Surround. I encountered that problem b4 and now it's gone ^^

The QEye is really giving the freeze at shutdown problem for window XP which running on the S41, hopefully someone found a working driver and share it here. It's actually happen to my friends S41 which he's running with window Xp but my Vista is fine.
