Hmm what amazes me in this whole thread is that there are people who are claiming its unfair for Microsoft to ban modded consoles..

Talk about out of this planet perspective..

woo...very offensive statement though  unsure.gif  This is pity for gamers who enjoy gamez but couldnt afford 1. Basically, there is more points to take into consideration  icon_rolleyes.gif

I think he said it very well. Gaming is not a necessity. So are movies, music, or entertainment in general. The rule of thumb is that if you can't afford it, doesn't mean you can steal it.

I am no saint of course. But I do understand where the anti-piracy statement is coming from.

There is no customer service nightmare as the scenario painted.

If you are in the line of dealing with consumers, then all these issues would have already been taken into considerations. So, trying to paint a nightmare scenario for Microsoft is like telling them what they already know.

As for hackers going for a new mod, for those who don't think it will happen, big DOH to you. Its always been known that hackers will always try to best the big corporations which have been "stifling" their freedom.

But hackers churning out more mods or the possibility of an underground Live service should not stop Microsoft from doing all they can to combat piracy.
