haha ..ban mod console, that means it is useless if u buy a original games with a md console , still get banned ~!!

LoL, i'm only amused at this news cos when i bought my modded 360 from andy at tnl last year, i joked with him whether the live ban/3rol will affect me 1st? now i know 

hurry up and prep an official malaysia 360 launch, MS Msia keep the pricing on par with sgp prices, pretty pls? i'm still buying ori games waiting for local official launch

if pirated games kenot go online, selling official games + live subscription in Msia is feasible. hopefully, the govt dont overimpose too much taxes.
only 1 regret: no more going on xbl idolmaster leaderboard to learn from those expert producers how to properly produce my jpop idol with my current set  

what i find funny is why MS didn't just make the console won't boot pirate game? this will make people forced into buying original games. ban by console means people will have to buy new console, means loss of money for MS for every new console bought. and there's a probability that they will buy competitive console instead.

if game is below rm100 for original i sure will support it, but it dont seem will happen anytime soon but if can i also want to support ori and is not that ppl dont want to support ori just that some cannot afford it for me i buy ori and pirate....

i do buy ori thou for games i play online but problem nowaday for console like xbox360 is very hard to find unmodded in my place(penang) and got no shop like master DjiNn can rent games and sell ori shop, so most of the time i buy online but still i hope ori can promote better in whole malaysia not only part of malaysia like KL for example...so i hope future malaysia have better support for ori games....but right now it seem still very far away

1 noobie question. i tot ms cannot detect dvdrom mod?

OK, I have emailed a few hundred of my 360 customers and from a brief sample of responses this is what seems most likely:

1. Microsoft definitely detected back-up disc usage long before the Spring updates and compiled a list of console IDs.
2. Microsoft is now selectively banning from this list in waves (possibly as a ruse to disperse suspicion about what exactly it is they are detecting).

Here is an example of one customer's scenario:

1. Played back-ups until about two (2) months ago and then the Xbox died (3RoD).
2. Flashed console back to original firmware.
3. Replaced warranty sticker with new undamaged one (this is my specialty!)
4. Sent the console in under warranty and had it serviced (last month).
5. Console came back, still remaining unmodded.
6. Went on Live yesterday - immediately banned!

There you go - if you played back-ups two months ago you are !@#$ed!
It has NOTHING to do with what firmware you had during the recent updates!

Possibly what they detect is unstealthed back-ups - as a high percentage out there are still unstealthed! (amongst other things they could check for).
