QUOTE(marauderz @ May 18 2007, 09:47 PM) Don't Assume Sony won't do anything if the PS3 ever gets modded, out of all 3 next gen consoles only the Wii is the weakest one in case of internet protection against mod chips. OT: Yeah and Wii is the only console out there that is making profit out of hardware sales

MS is being bollocks when it comes to introducing Live services here in Malaysia. Below are the software piracy rate in certain countries for the year 2004: 1. China: 92% 2. India: 73% 3. Venezuela: 72% 4. Chile: 63% 5. Mexico: 63% All the countries above has Live services whereas Malaysia with software piracy rate of 63% is being left out. And mind you, the data shown if for the year 2004. I bet with the ongoing crackdown on software piracy here, the latest stats will be lower Added on May 20, 2007, 11:29 amOh looky here. Something I picked up on the net. Notice the statement in bold: On May 17, 2007, Microsoft started banning modified firmware consoles. Users with modified firmware will be banned permanently from Xbox Live, says Microsoft. After the first day of mass banning, Microsoft Germany executive Boris Schneider-Johne said: "You can get banned and exact same firmware ban code error if you have a overseas account with non valid address; You paid with a overseas credit card where the address does not agree with the address used in Xbox Live." Rubbing salt on the wound heh heh heh Most criticisms leveled at the Xbox Live service concern the Xbox Live Marketplace. The service has come under fire from both gamers and the gaming press for charging for downloadable content. In many such cases, users failed to see the value of the content.
Notable incidents include a horse armor download for Oblivion costing $2 and Microsoft charging for a Gears of War map pack that developer Epic wished to give away for free (it will become a free download 4 months later). Game Informer also said that Microsoft forced other companies to charge for content they wanted to give out for free.

QUOTE(Hamster X @ May 21 2007, 03:53 PM) I remember I heard in the Halo 2 forums months ago that someone was banned and he said that he hadn't been modding and it was his friends who were modding. Another user replied that you are not allowed to play with modders... I don't know if this is only for Bungie but if it's true for Halo 2 no doubt it will happen again to someone in Halo 3. No way that's gonna happen. How are we supposed to know if the other party modded his/her console or not.
