Was talking to my manager over this during lunch, she says it is possible that we won't be able to 'pasar malam' our old games anymore because we are buying the rights to the game, and not the DVD itself. So Microsoft can technically limit the disc to a single machine - provided that what applies to computer software holds true here as well.

Anyways, I personally think that Crackdown launching with 900 achievements, with the balance available over XBox Live is some sorta experiment, perhaps we will be seeing more and more games released bare bones and needing to be fleshed out via downloads. Provided that Microsoft reduces the price of such titles and d/l, this might be a better way than ban-hammer.

That statement is quite true but so far, no company dare to do that for console games yet because it does bring them bad PR. Before this was the rumour of PS3 blu-ray disc having this sorta security and with the intention of bringing down best-buy, walmart, GAME, or whatever second-hand trade in shop. Of course it was deny and nothing but a rumour. Still, it gave Sony such a headache with all the complaint.

So i think not even Micro$oft would wana make enemies with those retail shop/hypermarket.

90% i sure MS only banned modded console with ahemm games , i force my friend try his modded console on live with ori games ,his console still fine from yesterday till now .......hehe ...

but there been report that people who modded thier console and playing Original Have Been Banned.

aegis plays ori on modded console still kena banned..

i'm 99.99% sure MS is just toying with the rest of the modded but not banned group. haha, sit the the xboxlive hq everyday very boring mah, so they ban some, then the go read those message boards and forums to laugh at those who are still unbanned but fearful. every job has its moments. look at those 800++ comments at MJ. LoL

Hmm.. i'm gonna get my revived 3ROD from Djinn later. MS only detects the hacked DVD firmware right and not some extra X-clamps? So I presume its safe for me to sign in to LIVE? Mine's unmodded.

Dont think so...mine with x-clamp too...unmodded...been logged in to live son every single day..no worry..and no trouble at all...

of course is save.. it detects for those who mod internal firmware....

x-clamp has no physical "driver" to install also how they can detect.

but no more official MS warranty lo.

Neither feel good or bad , but I feel sad for Aegis because all the while he's playing ori game without knowing his console is modded .

If my calculation is correct, if i assume you use the xbox 360 for 48 hrs, the
cost will be 48hr x 0.2kW x RM0.3 = RM2.88

if you are a hardcore, and turns on the xbox 360 for 18hrs a day, in a month you will have accumulatd 18 x 30 = 540 hrs. So assuming the worst case:

540hr x 0.2kW x RM0.3 = RM32.40

So RM120 is a bit too off. Maybe TN 'miscalculated'
