Almost all of the locally assembled motocycles are having a very high % of error on their speedometer reading, means that it it's not calibrated. I think maybe the manufacturer purposely made/designed it that way in order to give U that "I believe I can fly" feeling. If U have a engine rev counter installed or any bike comes with it, U can actually calculate the vehicle's true speed base on the engine's speed and the outer diameter of the driven wheel. I was riding a Yamaha 125Z and was able to reach 170km/h and approching 180km/h on night riding as according to the bike's speedometer, well offcourse that was on non normal riding mode, I'm talking bout racing style riding position so that to reduce the wind drag, technically speaking aerodynamic co-efficiant drag, with the engine slightly tuned and final drive ratio changed, but later found out from the calculation that I was actually travelling at a speed very much lower than the shown speed bese on the calculation taken from the engine speed shown on the bike. Now only I realized that it was a shame by telling ppls that I can manage to do 170km/h-180km/h on my bike n expecting that they will think "wah, Ur bike very fast huh" n proud of myself which is actually a gimmick. Imaging if U can go 180km/h on a bike with around 17.5 horsepower of engine output, how fast do U think the 1 litre (1,000 cc) bikes with horsepower ranging from 150 to 195? Thats about 8.571 and 11.143 times respectively more powerful!!! From my point of view, that the trick from the manufacturers so that U'll appreciate of vat U've paid 4 from buying their product. I bought the bike 4 MYR5830, sure alot of buyers or onwers from this type of bike don't expect disppointment on performance wise after they have paid such amout of $, esp 2-stroke bikes. I have gave up my 125Z (to my brather in law) and changed to Honda EX5 Class and normally riding @ ard 80km/h (as shown on the speedometer, but I believe slower) sending my finacee to n back for work occasionally.

FYI, I was on a expressway race with a Yamaha LC135 on my car when driving on Karak-Kuantan Highway and guess vat, he was already on racing style riding without pillion rider and aware that I'm challenging him 4 a straight race, I was driving @ 130km/h exactly (ONLY), n he didn't even manage to overtake me. If a underbones n those bikes below 200cc bikes can go that fast, y would ppl go for big bike?

my ex-ride...125z.. fully modified..haha..
reach 190km/h easily..sap sap sui...modified by Team Uni Racer,at Seri Kembangan

My EX5 Class can easily hit 160km/h even at 1st gear la, no big deal, sap sap sui too.... to do that I only need to release the bike from main stand while slightly turn the handle, then it goes, no big deal.

But the problem is it doesn't really cover 160kilometer after 1 hour, y? Can U manage to cover 190kilometer after 1 hour of riding, if U can means that U should be able to reach Butterworth from K.L. within 2 hrs la? I tot the full scale of the 125Z's speedometer is only 180km/h? Means that pointer actually travels beyond 180km/h ah? Well, I think U have the fastest 125cc non power valve bike in the world leh. I salute U, even Aprillia RS125 and Honda RS125 dare not challenge U lo?

How many ponies can a 2-stroker WITHOUT a exhaust power valve generate in order to reach 190km/h? 125cc 2-stroke can goes 190km/h, than does it mean that 500cc 2-stroke can goes 4 times the speed, 190kmh x 4, WAH!!! 760km/h!!!! Can a 500GP bike go that fast? Faster that Buggati Veyron? Any1?

my yamaha tzm last time I ever test it on the highway up to 170kmph at plus
Then brought it back in kuching... no more straight road to ride it...
the max is 140kmph due to Power Valve problems....
now using ex5 old type.... max 120 then the meter snaped.... changed the cable 3 times still same problem..... barely using them nowadays since rainning....

To save fuel... I go for ex5...
huhuhu...

TZM150 is infact a veli goob bike in terms on performance, I'm talking bout 36 horsepower stok, only slightly lower than Honda NSR 15SP, but @ the same time this model is having realiability problems, 1 of these is the exhaust power valve. But sadly due to emission problem (I think), it's no longer selling.

Walau.... ==! Sounds horrible.... Nitrous Oxide, forced induction, engine balanced to 17,000 r.p.m., re-boring, re-stroking, titanium engine internals, heavy enaf?

try changing ur pipe to a bigger one n change the reed valve...n there u go...speed xD
*
Brather, may I know vat is "jumper"? Do U mean exhaust system with expansion chamber which meant for 2-stroke due to it's engine's charateristic? I tot 4-stroke doesn't use expansion chamber exhaust? Have U dyno tested ur bike's output? How many ponies that makes it can go 180km/h? I tot the bike is having only 11 horsepower stock?

Jialun is it? Agree w you on the meter. Most riders acknowledge that... Not to forget power to weight ratio.
If a 1.3 liter Haya can go 300kmh, then your math suggest 135LC can only go 30kmh tops? Haha...
*
Oh, Ur right jugak, y huh? It reminds me to the higher the speed of the vehicle, the higher the the output of the engine needs to overcome the co-efficient drag of aerodynamic n the output needed to create higher mv(momentum) since both are propotional related to V(speed).

Then how if I say the higher the output of the bike, the bigger/larger the components/parts it needs like U can't use a 428 size of chain on a GSX 1300R, or using a 70/90-17 & 80/90-17 tire (reason ppls like to stick to 'sotong tire) those not only adding weights to the vehicle but the necessary output that the engine needs to come up to create a necessary momentum for such components with high inertia. But it seems that tht doesn't add up although engine with lower output can have power transmitting components with lower inertia, any sugesstion?

GSX 1300R Hayabusa K8 & K9 is 220Kg (dry weight) with the output of 197p.s. while LC135 weights @ 103Kg with the output of 11.33 h.p., means the gixxer 1300R is having 895.45455p.s./ton while the LC135 is having 110 h.p./ton of power to weight ratio. Base on the figures above, the Hayabusa is having the power to weight ratio of ard 8.14 times greater than the LC135. If the gixxer 1300R can manage only 300km/h, then the LC135 should be top at 36.855km/h base on the calculation above, walau.... Juz can't figure out how come this doesn't add up.....

I haven't tested out the Hayabusa thus I have no idea of is it bcoz of running out of r.p.m. that coz the bike can't go any furhter (over ratio) or is it due to the output needed to overcome the aerodynamic co-efficient drag (most probably under ratio I guess).

The only 2 factors that I can figure out @ this moment is the output need to overcome the aerodynamic drag and the output needed for Newton's 2nd law.

Suzi was claiming tht their Gixxer 1300R can manage to get 300km/h when this model generates 171p.s. but since the 08/09 model came up with 197 ponies, it should be able to get more than 300km/h I believe.

125ZR got "injection" model 1 meh? I wanna buy 1 too then add turbo since it's forced induction. Front chain wheel neh? Mind to tell the engine speed at tht speed?

The thing about motorcycle speedometer is..... it is not accurate at all. It is only accurate to about 60-80 and then the error becomes enormous.

For example the infamous Yamaha LC135. The owners would surely become happy cos on stock the bike can go 150km/h... as indicated by the meter. Well how true is it? I follow my fren at 150km/h, my bike only shows 120, a difference of 30km/h and my bike's meter is not even accurate too; my bike 100km/h, Suzuki GSX750R 91km/h.

Btw, my bike can go 155km/h max as on meter.
*
True esp on underbone bikes, as the speed goes higher, the more significant the % of the positive error. Last time there was 1 fellar told me "meter boleh jalan dua round" when I ask him "belapa laju boleh lali". =='. I think for those underbone bikes, maybe V can try to find out the actual speed by using GPS device instead of believing ur bike's "imaginary speed".

Ex ....

Yamaha SS2 -> 150km/h
Honda EX5 -> 120km/h
Kawasaki KR150 -> 180km/h
Yamaha TZM -> 200km/h

Now...

Proton Putra Manual -> 200km/h ... no balls to press d
*
Putra stock can approach 210km/h but less than tht (ard 207km/h) with the air-cond turned off, all door glasses up n floored the accererator pedal.

haha... LC stock engine can go 180km/j ?  you are trying to bullshit me... maybe other people.. but not me.

Thts I'm curious when the speedometer is showing 180km/h, how slow is it really doing neh? For a 4-stroke using only SOHC 4-valve, Vr talking 11horsepower of output can really do 180km/h? Maybe the speedometer is having an positive error of 80% when it's showing 180km/h, means it's true speed is only 100km/h perhaps.

In fact this isn't any sports underbone like RG, RGV 120, FX125 , Stella, 125Z, DASH 125, Raider R150 and those generate more than 14 + horsepower, y would a the "so called sport" having so decent specs eg. 4-speed transmission, SOHC, etc? But I admit that this is a very stylish underbone bike n I guess HLYM has put in alot of effort in terms of design.

Thts a bullshit if the LC135 can really do 180km/h true speed in stock condition.

160km/h based on garmin nivi200

can ride along side any normal sedan on the highway..
confirm better than myvi and can hold for few minutes..
havent tried the max yet cause no guts..

Ha Ha, I believe using GPS receiver is the easiest way to find out tht the speedometer is actually cheating on U. I used to own 125Z n found out mine speedometer was showing 20km/h more than what was shown on the GPS receiver.

I think all of the small bike esp those below 600cc r having positive error on their speedometer, got no idea vat is the manufacturers intention designed it tht way. rclxub.gif

The full scale of 125Z is 180km/h, some say it can actually outrun the meter but imaging if a bike with only 17.5 horsepower can touched 180km/h, how bout those 1 liter bike having 175 horsepower, 10 times the speed??? OK thts too much, perhaps twice the speed??? 360km/h, still reasonable huh.

Even the 1st badge of Yamaha R1 can manage 270-280 km/h, can manage to get to that speed faster during riding at night, well thts a bike with 150 horsepower can do.

125Z was really a good bike for me, bought it for MYR5830, it was the 1st badge of 125Z, it has a reliable engine but always had the problem of clutch boots loosen, thus when it's idling, U can hear like the engine is frying peanuts inside. A very execellent kit bike.
