Just a question out of the blues, I'm wondering why Mini USB is preferred over Micro USB for A129?
Any specification differences between the cable design? |

The beeps on A129 is rather loud. As for the Wi-Fi app, I hope they let us change the settings without the need of stop recording. Hence the loud beeping to annoyingly reminds you that it's not recording.
*beep beep* *beep beep* *beep beep* *beep beep* sh.......now it's stuck in my head.... |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Dec 6 2018, 11:03 AM) 15fps good for space saving. I was just wondering, is it possible to get some adapter to use merge with my existing setup.Motion detection bad for heavily congested place. Anyway I prefer motion detection. My 3 wires hardwire kit and CPL is here. But not sure why the box says for A119 or A118c [attachmentid=10129129] Currently I'm using normal fuse piggyback with cigarette lighter extension. If I were to use this 3 wires hardware kit, I'll have to re-wiring everything again, which is something I am trying to avoid. Any suggestion to merge the 3 wire kit and continue onto the cigar-USB cable setup? |

Looks like 2019 Viofo A129 uses Novatek NT96670 chipset.
And the new firmware now support High Efficiency Video Coding H.265 HEVC compression. My chipset is the NT96663 unit. Hopefully it's able to support H.265 as well. |

QUOTE(msa9696 @ Jun 2 2019, 02:31 AM) Suspect parking mode too, but doesn't always happen so not sure how long I will need to test without having mode. I used to have the same exact issue. Parking mode recording not working only to realized it hangs my camera when I try to download my recording.Bought from Sicurez, yeah probably will check with them when have time, only concern very troublesome, have to send back to them, not sure if have to leave my unit there and how long they will take to find out the problem. That will leave me without any dash cam. I would say software still so buggy, not sure if others face the same problem. What I did was to re-download the firmware and reset default twice. reconfigure again and test for 24 hours. Working ever since. Cannot guarantee if it works for you but least you could try the solution I did. This post has been edited by Keatsan: Jun 2 2019, 01:02 PM |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jun 11 2019, 11:23 AM) For owners using the A129 Duo's parking mode, turn off the wifi when not in use and not leave it on always. It will burn the wifi module very fast. Their WiFi module isn't the good type to begin with. File transfer with 2.4ghz and 5ghz no speed difference. I may as well stick to 2.4ghz. Peak at 72mbps transfer speed, and that's a very poor bandwidth.QUOTE(msa9696 @ Jun 11 2019, 03:11 PM) But warranty only 1 year right? After 1 year koyak liao very troublesome If you're using the Viofo parking 3 wire kit, it should cut off upon detecting the low voltage of your battery. Well, that's the safety cut off to begin with. I mentiond before that I keep turning on and off wifi (to enable and disable parking mode) as I posted earlier due to wanting to "save" the car battery when park at home (gated). Now with this risk of damaging the wifi, I really wonder, shall I just keep the parking mode running round the clock, and will it really shorten my car battery a lot |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jun 11 2019, 04:55 PM) Sicurez told me to set the cut off at 12.4V just to be safe. Agree on the 12.4v as well. The higher the better, lower risk of draining the car battery to lower Voltage. Also, I prefer to take out the micro SD card and use an OTG card reader that I store in my car to watch on my phone. Wifi too slow and sometimes the stream quality is not that clear. The WiFi module for A129 has room for improvement on hardware level. I guess that's the downside of the WiFi stability of A129. |

QUOTE(couk @ Jun 24 2019, 03:31 PM) Hi! I read some reviews suggested that the WDR should be turned OFF. May i know why? I thought this function is good to be turned ON? WDR is a double edge sword feature. On some condition, it's providing too much contrast or over-brightness of your recording.May i know what are the recommended settings for G-Sensor and Boot Delay? Hence you may need to evaluate and review the recording a few times to suit your taste. For my case I leave it on, since I'm happy with the results recorded since Day 1 purchase. My G-sensor is on low due to pot holes / bumpers / uneven roads in Klang Valley area. (I know right?) Wouldn't want too many false alarm recording and beepings...... Boot delay - 0 seconds. |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jun 26 2019, 12:22 PM) Perhaps it had some Korean DNA in it.QUOTE(lizzam @ Jun 26 2019, 04:27 PM) Hi all, Technically fuse tapping will void the car warranty upon on SC standards. It's a gray line area.Just got my A129 (bought with hardwire kit) to replace my A119 in May but just managed to install it a couple weeks back. Talked to my serrvice center guys, they said fuse-tapping will void warranty, so not sure if I should continue hardwiring it. a friend suggested using portable battery instead but with our heat I don't think that's a good idea. So, my question is: A) does your car's warranty void if you hardwire it, even using fusetaps? B) any alternative suggestion for parking mode other than hardwire? A - yes it does but most car manufacturer. But I'm not sure on BMW since they have their OEM dashcam installed as optional. B - powerbank but you've gotta be hardworking to remind yourself on charging / replacing it from time to time. |
