I have opted for a delayed Win 10 update mode. Recently heard from a friend that the latest update 1803 (April update) is good and it has solved some of his earlier Win problems. Decided to check mine and shocked to see that mine was so many updates behind (update 1709). Decided to update mine last night. It took about 3 hrs for it to complete the update.

I think the update went ok as I can start up the OS, run programs etc.

Only problem I find is the frequent alarm saying my J drive has low disk space. J drive is not my pre-set drive, In the past, J drive will only come up when I use a pendrive etc.

That drive now has 449 MB of data (500MB total space). Using MS explorer, the drive is blank with no file. Using CCleaner, see photo.

I think as part of the update, J drive was created using the HDD free space.

Questions:

Can I delete/format this J drive? The frequent low disk space alarm is annoying.

J drive is used for boot data/recovery? Then leave it there?

If this J drive is 100% required, can I increase the drive size to avoid the low disk alarm?

Or is this J drive left behind by the update as the update is not 100% successful? If so, how can I solve this? I tried to get it to do another update, cannot.

Are ccleaner and avg pc cleanup equivalent to cleanmgr?

I have already tried the ccleaner and avg pc cleanup.

cleanmgr is sufficient. Make sure you put a tick on every item.

Especially the backups.

don't remove the J: drive, it could be a recovery or oem partition.

annoying thing is that the notification will always popup saying that the drive is low on disk space

what u can do is to remove the drive letter, using diskpart command line util. diskmgmt wont be able to do that

Days later, this low disk space alarms just disappeared! Ha.

Despite no more alarm, I have updated to the latest win 10 for it to correct the error in the previous update.

J drive is your factory PC recovery drive, you can unassign the drive letter if you don't want to see it in your "This PC" window.

right click on your windows start logo, click disk management. Find your J drive then right click, click "Change Drive Letter and Path" then Click "Remove".

The annoying running out of space alarm has stopped. So I will just let J drive as it is.

Did anyone had problem with internet connection after update?

I can connect to internet but no internet access though.

This is happening randomly.

None so far. I have done many updates.

I cnt even update. Always error

My home PC also cannot update from 1709 to 1803. There is an exclamation mark ! on the Windows Update icon.

Tried everything except for fresh install or using the media toolkit (cannot remember exact name of it).

Anyone encountered this before? And how do you solved it?
