I applied for an upgrade at Shah Alam TMpoint, they don't even have it on their database. Still waiting for their call if my area can upgrade to 4MB.

Well I applied for this 4MB and since you have to change the username, they terminated my 1MB account. Now I can't access my internet and dunno when they are gonna install this 4MB. Wasn't told that they're gonna shut down my 1MB account while waiting.

Anyone who is applying, ask them about the account termination. It might happen to you too.

what if i want to upgrade my line from 1.5mbps to 4.0mbps..... need to terminate the 1mb acc then create another acc? or upgrade my line with existing acc?

There's a 1.5mbps? Anyway, yeah you have to terminate that acc first, and you will have to wait 7-14 days, depends on how fast the contractor is. That's the case with me, I can't confirm it for everyone though.

dragna, I didn't know thats the procedure and the least they could do is inform me about the closure.

Hey guys, its day 9 for me without Streamyx. The new username is still inactive, its like they did nothing. Anyway, today bang TMPoint and they say next Tuesday. Horray.

Rayfoo, do you know anyone I can contact directly to speed up the process?

Well, so much for upgrading. I'm back on my 1MB super f*cking slow line. After I've been disconnected for 2 weeks, the installer came and tried the 4MB speed test. I managed to get around 3.4-3.5MBps, and I was happy with the results since it was more responsive than this piece of shit 1mbps. Turns out my SNR for DL is 13.5-14dB and according to their policy, I need a 15 at least. I said I don't mind the slower speed, but oh well, what do I know.

All that effort for nothing, lost time and cash just trying to get this thing moving since the past two weeks. Have to go to TMPoint more than 3 times, had to call support centre only to be sent back to TMPoint. I just found out in the past 1 and a half weeks, nothing was being done. They just know how to disconnect and stay idle. Had to call almost everyday, and nothing happened.

All I can say is, I hope other competitors come into the picture soon. I may understand that my line can't cope 4MBps and that I have no option but to go back to 1MBbps, but making the customer do most of the follow up is truly Malaysia Boleh.

Well done TM and TMNet. I gave you the benefit of doubt, too bad you blew it by being the slow ass company that you're being stereotyped as.

Here's my result of 4mb. Got activated on Tuesday (no disconnection from registration till activated)

Speed: 5120kpbs (dl), 511kpbs (up)
SNR Margin: 11.2 db (down)
Line Attenution: 29.0 db (down)
tested dl speed: 500-520 kB (newsgroup, speedtest, flashget)
torrent: 100% shaping throttling, so 2-20kB, if use VPN: 100-220kB

modem: Billion, no problem with the settings but it got disconnection during some time where newsgroup & torrent together, then tried on prolink router, no problem. So the modem not so good.

Anyone knows which router brand good on handling more than 2pc, about 1000 connections on torrents? I tried on Prolink, it will slow down torrent speed on another PC.

Sorry, just to butt in. So TMNet are just a bunch of motherf**kers after all looking at your SNR. They said its their policy that they can't provide service to people below 15db. I said I don't care at least its faster than 1mb, and they said no, it is their policy. Policy my ass lah, my SNR was 14db, and here your SNR is much lower but you got accepted.

Btw, no offence to you logi, just a bit pissed off as my readout is almost the same as yours.
