Usually they will capped u at 5mbps so that u will get true 4mbps speed..
For the time being, around 7am till 1am, streaming will be lagging (my observation)..
RS, not sure coz rarely download using RS..But can get up to 200~300kbps in my case..Dont know can get this speed constantly or not from RS..
Local browsing is fast...Load soccernet, bbc.co.uk quite fast...

Last 2 weeks, the speed is like hell slow..but now seems to be normal already..

So, what can I tell, it worth it if u is a heavy download user...  smile.gif

It all depends on your DSL Sync. Again it depends how you manage your bandwidth. for me , at times it can be good and sometimes it can be pain in the butt

Hulu streaming would be great at High quality without any lag on a good day. However on a bad day, bam it will start to buffer every 2 second. It has its ups and downs. Local sites are always fast , downloading latest ubuntu is great with 4Mbps. Again it all depends. The main reason why I went with 4Mbps is not because of its speed , its because of its IP range and superb routing to Europe and to US. That was my main reason

It has its ups and downs. As for me , I am okay with it. I can tolerate with its down and lately youtube takes forever to load.

I havent been getting 218 ip for very long time di. I thought that would be SDSL right not ADSL

Ignore the dates , what I would do is download one file till 50MB and then stop and then resume the next day. Its because I stream a lot of videos. When I am not in the mood to see any videos , I resume.
You'l be needing 25Mbps for that
*
If i am not wrong SDSL allows u to do tat

means every pc in the network get max speed tats why it cost very expensive.

If i wan to stream and download usually i switch my download from many files to one files. it wont effect the connection tat badly like right now i am downloading, streaming and checking lyn.

i've called yesterday regarding the ip, they told me the 115 and 218 is for 4mbps user. uhuhuhukk. i've send an email to help@tm.net.my the other day complaining bout my speed and unstable connection. today they've reply and ask me to do some speedtest and show it. so, they deserve it,i've attached 3 speedtest result from their speedometer, 2 of them is 2000kbps average and 1 is only 1800++kbps. see how they want to show off now. they reply the email also like shait. very messy with full of "???" symbol.

don't think he need to do that.. this is the reply:

Looking at the reply sent by tmnut support, it seems that they're blaming on the DNS .. but wondering what DNS has to do with speedtest?

Added on November 29, 2009, 9:10 pmAnyway .. I'll bug the installer tomorrow .. smile.gif I'm on 115 IP too .. modem is showing 4096/509 kbps .. but speed test cam sial..!

if they talk about DNS flame them. Everyday call CS they ask u reset DNS say its procedure. Then they tell u they will reset port try few days usually problem will stay the same.

If u are upgrading the RM88 installation should be waived. Checking and Installing is 2 different thing.

aspire2006 , umm I must warn you this though. That only applies for 1Mbps/2Mbps. If you upgrade you'll be charged RM 88. TM folks will come to your house and do checks before they sync

The moment you register for 4mbps and if everything is okay , you'l lbe charged RM 88. That includes for folks who are going to upgrade as well. You cannot avoid that fee , I know its expensive and its stupid , but you can't avoid that

Thirdly there is no DIY streamyx 4mbps upgrade , TM folks must come and check if the line is 100% okay for 4Mbps
*
Thanks for informing after so much hassle i finally submit my application even today their system is down.
I even called TM 100 the customer support said no fees. Prasys the Tmpoint ppl said when upgrading streamyx to 4mbps my internet will go down for 4days for the upgrade process? Is yours the same?

I am not sure but one of this member said

QUOTE(azbro @ Nov 30 2009, 09:27 AM)
yay..got email from TMcustomercare support.

No need for RM88 if upgrade from 2 to 4Mb.
[attachmentid=1329809]
