i think no, because when im upgrading to 4mbps, suddently my adsl led not light anymore, even blinking.. then call tmnet what happen, they said that my line in process moving to other port that support >2MB. i consider it true lah..

actually, tmnet limited the bandwidth for streaming youtube from 7am to 1am. if you dont believe..try to watch video from youtube @2am... no matter what package youre in. see.. our best internet provider...

no improvement. only no.2 will be improved.

ip range depend on location. one more thing, 4mbps, 1mbps..even 512k, are using same ip range in specific location..

when im upgarde to 4mb.. my line only disconnected about 10hour.. it begin early in morning.. about 7am..(two days after i submitted my application) after that i call tmnet, they said my port need to change to another port that support higher than 2mb. then i go to work, when i return home at 5pm.. dsl already come back and speed shows 3066kbps.. the day after, the contractor come to my house do some testing, finally he set my line to 4mbps.. the day after that i manage to get that speed with my account.. total working day: 4days. i'm at johor.

notice that youtube smooth. RS premium full speed. BT not test yet.

2.2.2.xxx ip u got when u reset the modem and forgot to place '@streamyx' at username. that what happen to me also with dlink dsl2640t. that is my case..

luckily i'm not using megaupload. yes..overall speed is very good. RS premium @full speed + rapidshare happy hour.. wow!, my hard disk free space decrease rapidly. now @5GB/day or at happy hour time you can download up to 50GB/day..

now 4mb user are capped @4mb speed.. even your port configure higher.. mine set @6mbps.. can get up to 660kB/sec download speed.. now it maintain @500kB/sec which is 4mbps speed.. anyone??

woho.. everybody same like me ya.. 8pm-12am.. connection like sh*t.. slow for everything and almost no activity when im connecting to my paid VPN (US server). i hope tm high rank worker get perot kembong for eating my illegal money.

the package come with modem.. no matter you want it or not.. just take it, me take the modem and throw it immediately inside recycle bin. just continue using my dlink dsl2640t. no problem.. the modem come with tm package is the 'ayam'est in the market..

what they do to me?
im complaining about slow connection to premier CS. they said my line already set at 6mbps at should be fine. i said that every slow.. speedtest shows less than 1mbps.. KL, singapore, penang.. all less than 1mbps. i told them my dowdload speed also slow.. less than 200kB/sec.. so they said they need to set my speed at 4mbps.. and then see what happen.
after 15minute my line show 4096kbps.. and.. everything damn fast.. speedtest 3450kbps..(logic for 4096 capped), i test download with all premium acc that i have.. RS = 440kB/sec (1 task).. hotfile 400+.. and uploaded.to also can get 400kB/sec with single task!!.. before this, uploaded.to is the worst.. can manage to get about 200kB/sec even with four concurrent download..

i'm cosidering to downgrade to 1mbps package now..wait for my 12-months contract come to end (this dec).. so many bad story when im using this 4mbps.. now i'm thinking why im using this package while i can download/upload up to 7MB/sec at my office.. and i can remote office pc from my house!.. nafsu nafsu..if im not upgrade to 4mbps, i can save rm50x12+rm88=rm688! this year. what a waste.

no if your snr margin only 20db for 2mbps.. i think you will face a problem if your line set to 4mbps.
i think maybe when yr line set to 4mbps.. yr snr margin drop from 20 to 14. 14 can consider fair..cukup makan la. that why the technician said you cant obtain 4mbps.

me for example:
2mbps capped; 32~35db
4mbps capped; 24~28db
6mbps capped; 18~22db
8mbps capped; 10~14db <-- here im facing with frequent disconnection, and when i check modem log's it said DSL lost synchronization.

Added on August 27, 2009, 6:35 pmi am already facing slow down in connection. when i check my DU meter.. this month usage is about 100GB in total, UL+DL. and my fren from tm also said that tm now implementing its fair usage. but i dont know how much.. if true.. then better choose 1mbps package.

doesnt care you capped at how much mbps.. 5,6,7,8.. even 24mbps.. 4mbps user already capped at 4mbps speed.. so capped @5mbps is the best, to obtain 4mbps speed and also to obtain good line status (snr margin).

KKW, may be your aunt's place snr margin quite low..so 4mbps in the best instead of higher speed.

if your modem capped @4mbps with 23.5db margin, you can ask technician/tm to set your modem to 5mbps, i think there should be no problem with 5mbps speed.
