what if i want to upgrade my line from 1.5mbps to 4.0mbps..... need to terminate the 1mb acc then create another acc? or upgrade my line with existing acc?

My 1Mb line has a top at speed of 512k line, if I'm lucky. Most of the time I get 20 - 37 K. I suspect most of us are getting this speed

There's a 1.5mbps? Anyway, yeah you have to terminate that acc first, and you will have to wait 7-14 days, depends on how fast the contractor is. That's the case with me, I can't confirm it for everyone though.

dragna, I didn't know thats the procedure and the least they could do is inform me about the closure.

Dude I was refering to the connection speed to Chicago using Speedtest.

They did state it out at the ToC but might not have been very clear with their words.

"10# For existing customers who want to upgrade to Streamyx 4.0 Mbps, new modem and new login name will be provided. Service interruption will occur, for a maximum period of 2 working days."

its still throttled and veeeery veeeery slow though

yes the line is 1.5Mbps
but then ur account is 1Mbps
it won't exceed 1Mbps

the billion modem look very nice...it is so small

walao....billion modem lousy 1~..connect oso need take more than 1 mins...my aztech only took 30s..to connect...

now screamyx free modem all give billion ~cheap stuff

my line shows taht i can get 5mpbs when i upgraded!but due to the copper cables around my area i can only achieve 2mb max.The contractor said he'll look into this issue to try to resolve it.If this area(ttdi) needs rewiring then he shall bring that issue to top management.

but yes they did terminate my 1mb account and i had to wait for 7 working days before they issued me a line(my dsl light was not on at all).It was frustrating(still is).

However i am very impressed with the billion modem and it's dynamic capabilities.

i wonder how the 4Mbps speed is like

Are you getting the streamyx 4 mb broadband or the Paneagle 5 mb broadband ?

Also this billion modem you got whats the model name, is it also a router ? and what sort of advance features you talking about here.

My Aztech modem on 24/7 and seems reliable but i want to check line attenuation etc but it can't do that ;

billion 5112s , no special modem lar...crappy modem more like it lol, now i using back my own modem

TMNet can't even handle 1MBps users and they expect people to upgrade to 4MBps? No thanks

Ray what do you mean higher than 4mb ? u using another service ?
