QUOTE(zweimmk @ Sep 28 2009, 07:17 PM)
I've just upgraded to the 4mb package today (from 1mb package)

According to the Tmnet checklist:

my SNR checking is 24 and Attentunation is 7

I'm using a Linksys WRT310 router and a Linksys AM300 dsl modem.

The green lights that's visible are: power, ethernet and DSL. The internet should light up green but it no longer does that now but yet I'm still able to surf online atm.

Is this normal? How long does it take for the upgrade to take effect?

My connected IP atm is: 60.51.105.174
If this is not the right IP for 4mb users then what kind of IP should I be on?

I'm in the TTDI area. Appreciate any input and help on this.

If you can go online without showing the green light on your modem, the only explanation is that your modem is set up as a bridge mode and so that it only acts as a bridge between DSL(WAN) and Ethenet(LAN),the connnection is actually made by either your router or your computer(setting up a dial-up).If none of above is indicated,I think that should some faulty on your modem.

You are so lucky to get your upgrade so easy as you are living in TTDI where TM has upgraded most lines to fibre optics into DSLAMs.Thus, you could get such a low line attenuation and high SNR margin, aka. a perfect line condition.

Well, my internet connection is quite erratic right now. The green internet light sometimes appears when I restart the modem and sometimes don't appear at all. And when it does appear, it cannot connect to the streamyx server and when it does connect, it takes a very long time.

Usually how long is the lead time before the upgrade is successful? Does anyone have any idea? And is what I'm experiencing now normal (as part of the upgrade process)?

Normally once the installer comes to your house, you could get the upgrade on the same day or the next time.

The only way to see whether you have upgraded to 4Mbps is to do speedtest. As your line quality is very good,I think you should get 3.8-4.2Mbps for the downstream from the real testing.

I got Billion Modem BiPac

Went to TM Point today kinda fuzzy that TM Staff said no more port 4 Mbps port i insisted they sent technician to verify it. I said it just a jumper upgrade which already my another fix line in the same house is getting that 4 Mbps.

Worst case scenario i have to terminate the TM Line along with the 1 Mbps account and register a new Combo

She present me that my account still hook up with hop hop away 1 Mbps + Celcom . Maybe the system fakap so it shows that in the system and can't be upgraded. I already went to Celcom and terminate that hop hop away package

Have to wait for TM to call me :-) regarding the issues

They always have those funny things taking place. The Billion one could be considered as the best modem that TM gives out. It's quite stable, but it has a slow-reponse web-based control panel. The overall is ok. smile.gif

I now have given up the idea to upgrade my line from 2Mbps to 4Mbps.TM told me several days before that my application had been in the waiting list in their system and I even can't reapply it. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

The rejection of that installer caused all of these. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Bad luck,huh?!

I think currently you are capped at 2Mbps,TM hasn't finished to set up the right jumper to you.The installer should complete it by tomorrow. smile.gif

Well, I'm finally on the "premium" ip. Too bad it's the 218.111.xxx.xxx and not 208 ip.

Speed is generally above average but today's connection seems to be somewhat inconsistent - I wonder if it has anything to do with the Earthquake?
